Clothe Our Kids was founded November 2013 as a non-profit group with a mission to provide at-risk children with needed clothing. This is accomplished by working directly through local school counselors and Department of Children's Services case workers who call and request clothing for a child in need. In order to maintain the integrity and purpose of helping those most in need, we are not open fo
r public requests for clothing and no identities are kept confidential by the schools. Because it’s teachers/counselors who see our children every day they are the ones aware of the kids in need. They see the “day-to-day” and they see the children who wear the same clothes to school every day or who come to school in the middle of winter with no coat. That’s why it made so much sense to make our schools the point of contact to help these children. We have also been embraced by our local case workers with The Department of Children's Services to help clothe the children they represent who have been victims of abuse or neglect. We are supported solely by community clothing and shoe donations and our goal is to provide a bag of clothing to a child in need within 24-48 hours of being contacted by a school or case manager. Each clothing bag contains 6-7 outfits, coat, shoes, pack of underwear and socks. We also include gloves, hat and pajamas as they are available. All clothing and shoe donations are screened for school and weather appropriateness and cleanliness. Then are then organized and at our warehouse and made ready for distribution. We accept sizes newborn through plus-size adult. We ask that all adult clothing donations be style appropriate for teens. Our heart is to help children. Having warm and adequate clothing for school will help set them up for success both academically and socially and tell them they are loved and cared about. Thank you so much for visiting our page and for your support of our local children! Donations can be made at:
