Renew your mind daily.

God does not waste resources, nothing in God’s creation is purposeless. Attaining the purpose is the only true prove and measure of success. Erroneously, many believers in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior try to be focused on spiritual growth and development, neglecting mental and intellectual growth and development. Even in some climes, it is considered as maturity and great achievement, but in truth, it is fallacious and ungodly. For the living God that created the human mind had specific and important purpose for it. Agreed, it is our spirit that gets saved and sanctified to qualify for heaven. This truth does not in any way erase nor contradict the importance and purpose of the mind. That is why it is written: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2.

Without engaging the appropriate use and purpose of the mind through renewing it according to the word and dictates of God.
Though, born again and heaven bound a person cannot be effectively transformed. Being born again in our spirit, does not automatically translate into physical transformation thereby engaging the use and purpose of the mind, no, the mind must be engaged with the word of God. The mind is made for the purpose of aligning the spirit with the body to make the man whole in God. In so doing, then one can prove what is good, acceptable and perfect will of God. Without appropriate use of the mind, it is impossible to ascertain the perfect will of God.

There is no action taken on earth or in life without it first being conceived and decided in the mind. Meaning physical manifestations are results of ex*****on of what the mind had determined ahead of time. Therefore, the importance of the mind cannot be overstated. It is written: “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: ...” Proverbs 23:7a. Simply put, your mind dictates your actions. Realizing the above truth, it is of utmost importance that the mind be filled with the word of God in other to make right, positive and godly decisions in life. Knowledge of the word of God will build a confident confidence in God’s faithfulness to His words as He has promised. In so doing it will be easy for one to see the hands of God in everything in life and know that everything will work out fine. Then the scripture passage such as "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28. Will be believable, true, reasonable, sensible and acceptable.

With the declaration of the word of God in many passages of the scriptures like this and many more like it: “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23. Stating in no uncertain terms that God’s love and mercies are infinite and that they are new every morning. That’s a great encouragement for every daily living for all that renew their mind with such scripture passage. What shall we say of such scripture passages as Psalm 91:16, Luke 10:19, 1 John4:4, 3 John 1:2, etc. Words of life with assurances of blessings and benefits that has automatically accrued to every believer in Christ Jesus. Unless a believer renews his or her mind, though all these promised blessings and benefits are available to him or her. He might live a life not partaking of them because of ignorance. Your mind needs to be saturated with the word of God to be rightly renewed.

God’s love for you is guaranteed, He is mindful of all that concerns you. And He is utterly committed to your good in life. Even if the process seems unpleasant and unclear, a man with renewed mind will know that God has his best interest at heart. You need to know and embrace the fact that God is never late, He will be on time and that He is more committed to blessing you beyond and above of your expectations of Him. God cannot and will never forsake you, trust Him, He is faithful. Therefore, renew your mind daily with His words in confidence that you are on His mind for good. Have a wonderful day and remain blessed in Christ Jesus.

God’s approval or people’s applause.

There are two options available to all men. And your choice will determine to a great extent your success and impact in life. The two options require choosing between pleasing God and have His approval or choose to please men and have their applause, we all have to make this choice, no one is exempted. The impact and relevance of it all depends squarely on choice made between the two. God’s approval many at times rarely align with people’s desire and expectations. Therefore, many people choose the easy path of trying to please men, instead of pleasing God. God’s approval does not always guarantee popularity, applause, or even prosperity in the interim. However, in the long run, choosing to please God always promote, elevate, and distinguish one with distinctions in life.

God’s approval requires discipline, forthright character, honesty and integrity, which is never cheap or easy to demonstrate. While pleasing people and getting their applause may be easy in the short run, at the end, it decimates and thwart purpose and destiny.
King Saul was chosen and anointed by God to rule Israel. Later in his life, he was more concerned about people’s opinion than to obey God’s instruction (1 Samuel 13:11 & 1 Sameul 15:13-23). In so doing, he lost the throne and later lost his life violently. While, his successor, king David in spite of his checkered life with some not so savoring peculiarities. He reposed his confidence in God and sort God’s approval all his life, and his name is written in indelible golden letter to generations after him. Self-denial, self-discipline, resolute resolve and focus makes a good leader which is what God desire for and from everyone that will obey His instructions. The road may be fronted with ups and downs; however, the end is guaranteed success, victory, joy and peace.

Seeking God’s approval will compel one to endure hardship, pains, injustices and even abuse, like the life of Joseph in Egypt until God’s purpose for His life was fulfilled gloriously. The best example was given us by Jesus Christ when in agony chose the Father’s will instead of the easy way of His own (Luke 22:42). The result of which the price of Salvation of the whole world was obtained and secured forever. The dividends of committing to God’s approval over people’s applause in virtually inestimable. For it guarantees blessings on earth and life eternal hereafter. God’s approval requires humility; it takes humility of a person to accept and embrace the fact that he or she is incapable of saving his or her soul and that a Savior is needed to ultimately please God. Meaning to be born again and become a child of God, heaven bound and Christ ambassador on earth requires surrendering to God, in acceptance of one’s inability to please God by works or deeds. Pride and arrogance of people have led to formation of many religions and belief systems that gives false hope and plan of obtaining salvation by one’s doing or merit, which is utterly impossible.

Genuine, sincere and objective self-examination will show in no uncertain terms that it is impossible to please God without help. And God has availed the help in Christ Jesus that whosoever will accept Jesus as personal Lord and Savior shall be saved (John 3:16). Qualification and acceptance, totally on the merit of Jesus Christ nothing else. And if pride, tradition, ancestral beliefs or whatsoever other consideration or excuse should make anyone reject the offer of Salvation through Christ Jesus, there is no remedy for such soul. Hell, or heaven bound is by personal choice, therefore choose wisely (Romans 10:9-10). The best motivator in decision making in life is to consider whether the decision pleases God or pleases man, in so doing you shall have good success in life and heaven to gain. Have a wonderful day and remain blessed in Christ Jesus. Grace and wisdom be multiplied to you in Jesus` name.

The greatest struggles in life.

I will like to submit to you that the greatest struggles in life are internal, not external. Most battles are first fought in the mind before the physical manifestation of the decisions made in the closet of the mind. Whoever can win the battles in his own mind is bound to succeed and triumph in life. Victories are first won in the mind before the physical manifestation. One of the most biting, wrenching, uncomfortable and sometimes overwhelming struggles in every life is done during the time of waiting. Waiting test, us all and determine enduring success or failure in life.

Many at times waiting period always look like time of God’s abandonment of the saint. Like when you have prayed all you know how to pray concerning something and the answer refuse to come to pass. In such times discouragement and doubt might set in. If care is not taken, impatience that destroys destiny and purpose might set in too. It is very uncomfortable to wait, but in the crucible of waiting is enduring and great faith forged. Joseph grew up knowing that he was born to be a great man. But the events that followed his dreams of greatness included pit, slavery, false accusation, prison and years of uncertainty, but he waited without taking short cut and he arrived at his destiny in the palace.

The bible makes it clear thus; “To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:” Ecclesiastes 3:1. It is also written: “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,” Galatians 4:4. Meaning time matter, therefore, patience in life is not only virtue but weapon of spiritual warfare, that guarantees resounding success. Waiting time is always great time for preparation. God hasn’t forgot you but He is preparing you for what He has purposed for your life, however you must master the art of waiting trusting Him. Mistakes are inevitable when one fails to wait, Abraham, pushed by Sarah refused to wait and brought about Ismael. King Saul failed to wait for Samuel to come offer sacrifice and did it, thereby disqualified himself from the throne of Israel. Learn to wait on God, you are on His mind, He can never and will never fail you trust Him, He is faithful.

Waiting period is for preparation not complacency or idleness. Joseph through out his journey to the throne was excelling in every assignment given to him. David after being anointed as king in the place of Saul, waited, preparing his own corps of military and administrative personnel, necessary to rule successful. Waiting time is for consistent, diligent and dedicated meaningful exercises in preparation for what you are expecting from God. Rest assured, you are not forgotten, God will bring to pass what you have asked of Him in prayers and supplications. However, you need preparation to be able to handle that blessing in the answered prayer coming your way. The more impactful your God ordained destiny the longer and sorer the preparation. Moses did not have the required temperament to lead Isreal when he first tried to. He went to the school of humility for 40 years before he was fit for the job of a deliverer. He was later adjudged as the meekest man on earth of his time. Though our Lord Jesus Christ was declared at birth, He was not revealed to Israel until age 30 years old. Timing matters.

I don’t know and can’t tell what you have asked God for in prayers. Rest assured, it is on the way, wait for it, right timing shall make it glorious and the result shall be magnificent, therefore wait, trusting God. Remember that He promised the following: “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” John 14:13-14. “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.’ Hebrews 13:5. “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isiah 55:11 and knowing that “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Numbers 23:19. He has promised you in His words that your prayers will receive answers in the affirmative. Therefore, trust Him and wait. Grace and wisdom be multiplied to you in Christ Jesus.

Will you be made whole?

It is easy and even common to many believers in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, both ministers and laity to assume other people’s need when praying for or ministering to them. I will like to submit to you that such assumption is not totally scriptural and at times it is the cause of unanswered prayers and petitions before God. It should be noted that the Lord Jesus Christ seldom assume to know what people want until He has asked the individual in specific term what the person wanted. At virtually every instance of Jesus Christ performing signs and healing miracles in the lives of people, He usually ask them literarily what do they desire of Him or their expectation. The man at the pool of Bethesda, blind Bartimaeus, even in Cana of Galilee, He did nothing until they told Him what they lacked. Obviously, Jesus was mindful of attending to people’s desires rather that to assume and overrule it. Ought we all need to learn from the Master the best way to approach ministry.

I have noticed that it is now a common practice that people will just arrogate to themselves the right and power to command so-called blessing upon people they know nothing about, especially in these days of social media and messaging applications and platforms explosion. They will usually declare and decree whatever they want on people. Come on, the power of prayer and the use of the name of Jesus Christ in commanding or decreeing prayer and supplications should be done orderly not disorderly as it is commonly and flippantly done now. Let us learn and tow the steps of the Master, in order to get resounding and enduring result. Must not and should never treat divine issues flippantly. These are issues of life, living and eternity, let us approach the throne of grace in all humility and decorum.

True, we have been given the authority to use the name of Jesus to access heaven for whatsoever we desire. However, it has to be done in accordance to the instruction and stipulations of the owner of the name, else result may become hit or miss affair. And it ought not be so, for there is limitless power in the use of the name when used properly. If you want to get consistent result in prayer and ministration, adhere to the proper way of using the name of the Lord. Ask people what they desire from the Lord before you start decreeing and commanding what you assumed. For, if the person or people you are praying for are not in agreement with you, your prayer will mostly be ineffective. Jesus usually asks, why don’t you emulate the Lord by following His lead and start getting remarkable results and answers to prayers. This is God’s perfect will for every prayer prayed, you are in God’s will to pray.

It is written:

“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” John 14:13-14

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” John 15:18

“And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” John 16:23-24

“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” Psalm 50:15

“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3.

The above scripture passages and many more like them are sure, certain, powerful, genuine and true. However, they must be applied and administered in proper context in line with God’s command for their use. It is God’s perfect will to answer our prayers but on God’s terms which are well spelt out in the bible with reference to the way of the Master. No one can outperform the Master, adhering to the Lord’s method of seeking the permission and desired expectations of the person or people involved is to be adhere to. Then marvelous result is inevitable. God is faith. Grace and wisdom be multiplied to you in the mighty name of Jesus.

Walk away to walk into purpose.

Walking away is not weakness but divine strategy to triumph and impact life resoundingly. To arrive at your God ordained destination you may have to walk away from whatever He asked you to walk away from. Walking away is not the easiest decision but most important decision to arrive at your higher level of purpose in life. Walking away is not always geographical but mostly psychological in the mind first. The first move in walking away starts in the mind before the physical is manifested. Even at times geography is not required in walking away. It is really a mindset thing. The children of Israel left Egypt, crossed the Red Sea in most spectacular miracle. Yet most of that generation never left Egypt in their minds, therefore, only two persons out of the generation that left Egypt reached the Promised land because most of the people left Egypt physically but psychologically stayed put in Egypt. Walking away in obedience to God starts in the mind before the physical manifestation.

Walk away from sin, walk away from iniquities, walk away from fear and doubt. Walk away from whatever is contrary to the command and instruction of the living God. Obedience in walking away is always a setup for greatness even if at first it looks like a setback. When God command to walk away, do not analyze it just obey. Rest assured, God’s command to walk away will never contradict the written and spoken word of God, if needs be, that is your litmus test to know that it is God’s command. That means God will not tell you to walk away from your spouse that has done nothing wrong. Or leave a church because you do not like the face of the pastor or some brethren in the assembly. God will never command you to walk away from the path of righteousness into sin. You can easily litmus test the instruction and direction to walk away.

However, God can and in most cases command you to walk away from what seems to be comfort, sure guaranteed and settled achievement. While commanding you to walk into something that looks so uncertain that it will be contrary to common sense evaluation. Remember, God told Abram to walk away from everything settled, comfortable and the certainty he knew and enjoyed in Ur of Chaldees. Obedience of the command is what made Abraham the father of nations, father of faith and friend of God forever, obedience pays. Moses walked away from the comfort of Pharaoh’s palace to fulfil his calling as liberator of Israel. Ruth walked away from Moab to become an ancestor of Jesus Christ. Rahab walked away from Jericho to become an ancestor of Jesus Christ. Even our Lord Jesus Christ had to walk away from the glory He enjoyed in heaven with the Father to come into the world to become the Savior of mankind. Walking away from comfort in obedience to God, guarantees incalculable blessings and reward, be mindful of it.

Even by exercising of your mind, you may decide to walk away from doing somethings not because they are easy or because God impressed on your heart to walk away from them. But simply because you are cognizant of the fact that; “All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient. All things are lawful for me, but all things do not edify” 1 Corinthians 10:23 further accentuated in 1 Corinthians 6:12 “All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” Could be because of the position you held in the society, leadership, ministry, etc. You may decide against things that are not necessarily sin or iniquity. Your calling might demand it.

I don’t know what the Lord is telling you to walk away from, be it some sins, iniquities, fear, doubt, comfort, or whatsoever it is. Obey and be launched into your God ordained trajectory of greatness. Walking away is an act of utter faith in the faithfulness of God. It is an act of surrendering to God with confidence that God is faithful.
It is always easy to stay put in comfort, but it is better to move into uncertainty by faith trusting God’s command in doing so. Apostle Paul walked away from his prominent position as a stalwart in Judaism and embraced faith in Jesus Christ. In spite of the obvious attended peril, in so doing he wrote at least one third of the New Testament and got his name written in golden indelible ink forever. No one can remember the names of his colleagues in Judaism then that never surrendered to Jesus Christ. If you are reading this piece and you are yet to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, today is your day of salvation, do not postpone it. Walk away from whatever belief system you are engaged in now and come to Jesus Christ and your life will be changed for good, you will be shunning hell and have heaven to gain. Walk away from what is unprofitable and walk into the call of God in your life. This is God’s perfect will for you. Grace and wisdom be multiplied to you in the mighty name of Jesus. Never shy from walking away, into your destiny.

Let God know you at a higher level.

Take it or leave it, believe it or not, there are levels of being known by God. Therefore, endeavor to let God know you at a higher level. However, this cannot be rushed and it really has nothing to do with the volume of works, deeds or spiritual exercise engaged in to please God. But, your promptness in obeying the voice of God as He commands you. Every relationship with God starts with being born again, meaning the act and confession of faith in Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-10). Salvation is the first response to the call of God before other things would follow. Great experience and place of higher level with God is not reserved for special people, office or calling. Every believer in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior is qualified for the said promotion. And I dare say it is not gift of the spirit but fruit of the spirit that qualifies one to attain the said level.

God called Abraham to a land that God would show Him. On his way to the land, he stayed in Haran for years until his father died. Then he went on to the Promised land. He got there and the situation was not conducive in his judgement. He went to Egypt before he returned to where he ought not to have left. After years in the promised land, God gave him Isaac the child of promise and was asked to go sacrifice Isaac to God. He obeyed up to the last minute that God stopped him from slaying Isaac. Then God said; “And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.” Genesis 22:12. This incident promoted Abraham’s level of spiritual relationship and access to God compared to all other encounters that he ever had. The moment you allow God to be in charge; you have qualified yourself for higher level of relationship with God. For, nothing or no one will be more important in life above God in your life, total commitment is it (Luke 14:26).

The life of King David though checkered with sins of the flesh but his obedience to God’s commands and his resolve to seek the face of God before decision were made, distinguished him. Further, his sold-out mindset of wanting to please and glorify God at all times qualified him for distinction that engendered highest level of relationship as compare to any other king of Israel (2 Samuel 7). David got the title as the man after God’s own heart and of his linage came Jesus Christ our Lord. Beloved, above all things strive for higher level of being known of God. Ananias of Damascus was known of God that God chose him to minister salvation, healing, baptism and life to Apostle Paul (a known terrorist at the time). If you make yourself available, God will use you in great things. Peter, James and John had special place in the ministry of Jesus Christ while He was on earth. He always took the three along to special events of importance because he knew them at a higher level. Make yourself available for higher knowing of God in order to be used in special situations and circumstances.

Special place in God that makes the Lord God to know one at a special level, comes with utter demonstration of faith in God’s faithfulness. With the mindset of all of God and none of you, absolute confidence and surrender to God’s will. In passages in the scriptures God identified some men of great status with Him such as Moses, Samuel, Job, Noah and Daniel (Jeremiah 15:1 & Ezekiel 14:14,20), God referenced them by name. Beloved there is a special level with God, that ought to be your goal, it is attainable (Proverbs 3:5-6). Reposing absolute trust in God will qualify you for the special level. I dare say by the Holy Spirit that the said higher and special level is God’s will for all believers in Christ Jesus, but few ever attained to it. When you resolve that only God is all in all in your life genuinely, you are close. The level is the realm of ceaseless exploits in Christ Jesus. Have a wonderful day and remain blessed as you seek a higher level of recognition and placement with the living God. Grace and wisdom be multiplied to you in Christ Jesus.

Surrender to win.

Surrendering does not always mean defeat or a sign of weakness. In the light of this piece, surrendering simply means to cease resisting and submit to authority. That means submitting to the authority of God in order to win, succeed, triumph, conquer and do exploit ceaselessly in life. It is written: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7. Submitting to God is a great act of faith, that will enable you to successfully resist the devil and when you do the devil will flee from you. You will become terror of Satan and his cohorts. Adam and Eve resistance to authority of God led to their fall in the Garden of Eden. And every successful character, hero and heroine in the bible submitted to the authority of God and have their names written in golden indelible ink forever. And those that refused to submit got what comes naturally to those that refuse to submit to the authority of God.

It is written: “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10. God is here telling us that every battle of life belongs to Him, therefore be still and let Him that has never and will never lose a battle fight for you. In so doing you will be trusting the Lord with all your heart not leaning on your own fickle and limited understanding (Proverbs 3:5-8). It is further written: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:” Isaiah 26:3-4. Faith is trusting in God, which will prompt submission to His authority for He knows best. Doing your part in accordance to His guidance and direction, not in idleness but being instant in season and out of season, so to say.

Abraham’s trust and submission to God was exhibited in his obedience to leave the life, home and country that he knew to be led to a place where God would show him. Abraham’s submission went further in his desire and resolve to offer Isaac in obedience to God’s command. Trusting God will make you resolve to do what doesn’t make sense and even at times dangerous. Think of David confronting Goliath with mere sling and stones. Consider the Hebrew youths, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refusing to bow and be thrown into fiery furnace in Babylon. Daniel decision to keep praying that led him to be thrown in the lion’s den. Even our Lord Jesus Christ in a profound prayer of submission in the Garden of Gethsemane; “Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be done.” Luke 22:42. It should be noted that every one of them that submitted in surrender to God’s will, won resoundingly. You will win in the mighty name of Jesus.

It is now your time to repose absolute trust in God Almighty, your Father if you are already born again. He will also be your Father too if are not yet born again, just make the first act of submission in this manner “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10. The first act of surrendering to God is confessing with your mouth and believing in your heart the person of Jesus Christ as the Son of God. Then, addict yourself to the written word of God the holy bible as the guarding and guiding light in all issues of life. Rest assured, success, victory, triumph, deliverance and joy are inevitable as you surrender to God through His word. Have a wonderful day and remain blessed as you keep trusting in the living God. Submitting to God is virtue that engenders ever winning spiritual strategy, employ it. Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the mighty name of Jesus.
