Take stock and be grateful.

Make it a habit that you are addicted to often take stocks of the goodness and benefits of the faithfulness of God in your life. In so doing you are setting yourself up for ceaseless pleasant and marvelous blessings. There was a man in the bible that epitomized someone that was addicted to the habit of gratitude to God. This very virtue made him to be renowned as a man after God’s own heart. Which also led to his being blessed to be an ancestor of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His heart of gratitude to God qualified him to be a prominent member of the lineage of the Messiah.

He wrote thus: “Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.” Psalm 103:1-5

In another instance amongst many such instances in David’s life, he wrote: “I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” Psalm 34:1-8. The exuberance of King David in recognition and appreciation of God’s faithfulness ought to be emulated by every believer in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Beloved, do you often take stock of the goodness and faithfulness of God in your life. If yes, great, if not you ought to henceforth, for in so doing you are moving the hand of God to do more for you. All the good things that are happening in your life are not by coincidences but the mighty hand of God working in your favor, dare to recognize and appreciate them. Praising Him with thanks given for the living God always inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3) and thereby command more blessings. Consciously and deliberately, take stock today and at least every week, thanking God for what He has done, what He is doing and what He is yet to do in your life (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Always be mindful of the fact that in the true sense of it. The blessings you see or noted are pale in comparison to manifold blessings that you do not even know that the Lord has done for you, they are almost innumerable. Faith is impossible without ….

There are two attributes that must be in place for faith to be possible. That means, genuine, reasonable and true faith. False faith, weak faith and blind faith are products of guess work rather that immutable attributes of infallibility and impregnability working in tandem. I will like to state in no uncertain terms that there is no religion, belief system or worldview that have the above attributes apart from Christianity. That is why, Christianity does not compete with any religion, belief system or worldview when it comes to access to God. Only in Christianity is heaven, salvation and redemption guaranteed at the instance of faith in Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God sent to die for the sins of the world. No rites, rituals, works or deeds is required for salvation, save belief in the sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.

For better, clearer and precise understanding purpose, let us ascertain the meanings of the words infallibility and impregnability. What is infallibility? Infallibility is the quality or state of never being wrong, failing, or making a mistake. What is impregnability? Impregnability is the quality or state of being impossible to defeat, capture, or break into by force. These attributes are absolute in nature, else they will not be of any importance, no room for guesses or probability. It is written: “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Numbers 23:19. “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11.

It is further written: “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” Matthew 5:18. Also written: “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8. And “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17. All the above passages of the scripture states in no uncertain terms the immutability of the word of God, which made the words infallible and impregnable. The bible tops it up thus in Psalm 138:2 that God exalts His word more than His name. Meaning the true essence of God is His word. Further accentuated in John 1:1-3. When the truth of the stated facts about the word of God settles squarely in one’s heart and mind, faith is not only possible but inevitable.

That is why it is written that “faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God”. Trust and confidence are easily built on evidence and clarity of certainty of the integrity of the one that made the promise. You have to repose trust in an entity, concept or belief system before genuine faith can be achieved. This is not a mere religious issue; it is applicable to every sphere of life. Without trust, you cannot put your money in the bank. You cannot respect the opinion of a medical practitioners or lawyer. The bank must even trust you to furnish you with credit. Even no meaningful science can be done without faith in the intelligibility of the universe. Faith if required knowingly or unknowingly in all spheres of life to run smoothly. Why? Predictability that enhances certainty of the outcome requires level of meaningful faith, not based on supposition or guess work. Therefore, rejoice and be glad knowing that the word of God has impeccable reliability resting on evidence of the word of God being infallible and impregnable. You are in God’s hands trust Him; He is faithful. Look always unto Him and get helped (Psalm 121). Grace and wisdom be multiplied to you in Christ Jesus. Faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is evidence based, infallible and impregnable (John 20:31).

Do not be deceived.

The most powerful, effective and enduring weapon of Satan against the world and especially believers in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior is the weapon of deception. The effect of demonic deception is why a lot of people are not born again today. The deception can take several forms or format against the world, in fame, fortune, academic attainment, beauty, philosophy or some other believe system that negates the truth of the gospel of God in Christ Jesus. This tactic of deception started in the garden of Eden and the strategy has not changed but might come in different format. Yes, the world may be deceived into deception of unbelief. However, the most damaging deception is targeted at believers in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. This is so pervasive and common place that many fail to see it, though it is obvious.

Therefore, be very sensitive to reject anything that comes in any form or fashion that negates the truth of the word of God as recorded in the Holy Scriptures the bible. Any suggestion, any revelation, any opinion that does not align with the bible is utterly of the devil. Though, it might sound good, sensible, impressive or even harmless. Rest assured, it is a strategic ploy of Satan and his cohorts to steal, kill and destroy, beware. It does not matter where or from whom the information, opinion or revelation emanates from, reject it, it is not of God. Devil will use anyone that is available to pass on deception as truth, lies as light or illumination. This issue is so serious that Paul in his letter to the Galatians wrote; “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:8.

This is a serious matter because the enemy of salvation hasn’t given up, he is very much at work still peddling falsehood as truth and even using a lot of pulpits as the stage and avenue to pass on errors, beware. Whatever the bible says you are, so are you, anything or anyone contesting it is not neutral, it is satanic attack against the truth. The reason why a lot of believers are struggling, fearful and doubtful is because they have been sold lies, package in oratory or pleasantness, do not be deceived. You are who the word of God says you are and you can have what the word of God says you can have, never doubt it. Settle it in your heart and mind, that you have a family relationship with God sealed in the oath of the blood covenant, cut at the cross of Calvary. The covenant is immutable, infallible, irrevocable and sacrosanct. Further, realize that the covenant is all of God for you and nothing of you can abrogate the covenant as it is written in Romans 8:35-39.

The bible says: “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:15-17. “that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9. When the above is satisfied, you are entitled and deeded every pronounced blessing in the bible, none left behind. The bible says it believe it and access it.

Do not be deceived and denied out of the manifold blessings of God bought and paid for in full to your credit by the merit of the sacrificial death, burial, resurrect and ascension of Jesus Christ. He has done all that is required to bless you ceaselessly, therefore, embrace, proclaim, enforce and decree all that are yours in Christ Jesus. He paid for your blessings with His shed blood on Calvary. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise, His blood speaks better things, joy, peace, excellent health, prosperity, anointing, redemption, deliverance etc. God is forever faithful to His words and He has your back. The power of the blood.

The greatest treasure ever bestowed on humanity is the blood of Jesus that was shed at the cross of Calvary. It is unfortunate that a lot of people do not understand nor comprehend the power in the blood to its full extent, even most Christians don’t, talk less of those who do not believe. Yes, most Christians know a little about the power of and in the blood of Jesus. However, very few Christians know the full package encapsulated in the blood. Until, considerable knowledge of the power in the blood is known, a believer may be dotting around and begging when he or she is supposed to be taking charge.

The two most common understanding of believers in Christ are the fact that the blood of Jesus provides remission of sins and cleansing from sins. The two are true and incontrovertible blessings from the shed blood at the cross of Calvary. It doesn’t end at the two, we will examine a few more in this piece. However, let us properly explain and state the import and meanings of the two benefits that are well known for deeper advantages they avail to believers in Christ Jesus. Remission simply means removal, dismiss, discharge or cancel as in legal charge. Meaning at the instance of salvation your sins are done away with, wiped out completely (Hebrews 10:17). Cleansing from the guilt and power of sin is done by the power of the blood. Washed thoroughly clean, erasure of sins (1 John 1:7). When you are cognizant of the true meaning of the above two, the remaining benefits are easily embraced.

Now these are some of the benefits derived and derivable from the shed blood of Jesus Christ that are not so much known in the church, it ought not to be so. Considering time and space, I will only itemize them in bullet points with supporting scripture passage for you to take time to study and apply them in your life. They will make you more than conqueror that heaven has already made you in life.

Justification meaning fully discharged and acquitted from guilt with prejudice as a case discharge in the court of law with prejudice. Meaning never to be legally accused or prosecuted on again. Romans 5:9.

Righteous. The blood makes you righteous, not will make you but has made you righteous if you are a believer in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. 2 Corinthians 5:21

Redemption; in the true sense it is what the blood did and still does, is total transfer of ownership as stated in Colossians 1:13 and
Colossians 3:13. Through the forgiveness of sin you become God’s property, child and joint heir with Jesus Christ. From kingdom of darkness into the glorious light of the Son of God. Total change of ownership and identity

The blood cancels demonic contracts emanating from sins as stated in Colossians 2:14

Gives right of access to the presence of God. Matthew 27:51, Hebrews 10:19-22 & Hebrews 4:16

Legal weapon as stated in Revelations 12:10-11 and Hebrews 12:24.

The blood opens spiritual eyes to behold great things. Luke 24:30-32.

The power in the blood of Jesus is so potent and comprehensive that it covers every aspect of human life to eternity. It is more than what is commonly accepted, preached and known to many Christians. It is deeper and more impacting when understood and applied appropriately. All the above benefits are yours to enjoy and use to triumph in life. Go ahead and take full use of all that God has availed through the shed blood of Jesus for your wellbeing and thriving in life. Rest on the Father’s verdict.

It is very important to understand the nature and concept of a believer’s relationship with God. Every believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior becomes a child of God at the instant of His confession of faith and believing with His heart the person of Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God. Sent primarily and purposely to die for the sins of the world as propitiation for the salvation of the souls of men. That’s why when the disciples asked the Lord Jesus to teach them how to pray, issue of the relationship was made the first to be addressed as “Our Father who hath in heaven”, therefore, if you are a believer in Christ Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, then God is your Father.

And it is good to know that God has declared and even decreed some specific verdicts concerning His children. Of which you are one. In order to enjoy life to the full and fulfill your purpose on earth, you must acknowledge and submit utterly to the Lord’s verdict. The said verdict can also be referred to as the Spirit’s verdict. Simply put, the Lord’s verdict is the written word of God canonized in the Holy Bible. Let every of your decisions and actions be in accordance to the verdict, then you will do exploit in life and have good success. God told Joshua “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:8-9.

It is the Lord’s verdict; “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10. Anything act short of the above verdict can never save a soul, might look or sound good but the only way of salvation is clearly paved and stated. It is the Father’s verdict. It is further stated: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-19. His verdicts are sacrosanct, infallible, immutable and irrevocable, therefore, rejoice and be glad as you adhere to them.

Situation, circumstance, news, opinions and even your mind and reasoning will shout loud and clear many at times to distract and even confuse you. Do not be distracted or confused, the final authority on successful life and living is the word of God, His verdict. And the verdict says:

“With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.” Psalm 91:16

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
“For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39.
Etcetera etc.

The above verdicts are but mere scratch on the surface of limitless verdicts for your peace, joy, excellent health, long life and prosperity with eternity to gain by the said same verdict. Repose your absolute confidence in life on the Father’s verdict, then you will be spiritual, holy, righteous and great man or woman of God in life. His verdict is all that matters, adhere to them. The Manual.

The most simplistic accurate definition of a manual is that it is a small reference book of instructions. Manuals are needed and are necessary in every sphere of life, even in mundane things, if optimum performance and accurate use is desired. Without manual, abuse, misuse, destruction, accident and confusion are inevitable in operation of whatever is made for specific purpose or purposes. No manufacturer will send out any product without furnishing manual to help guarantee proper and best use of the product. It should also be noted that the manufacturer has the best instruction for his or her product’s use. Therefore, it will be foolhardy to ignore the instruction book and expect the best result from the product. It is even most likely that the product will be misuse, underused or even damaged when manufacturer’s manual is not adhered to.

The book of Genesis chapters one to three tells us the Who and the process of manufacturing of the Universe and everything therein. God, being the manufacturer of human beings has the most accurate instruction book for successful life for humanity. The bible is the instruction book, when adhered to, joy, peace and prosperity are inevitable. When disregarded, problems, havoc and evil are also inevitable. In many passages of the scriptures, we are instructed to study, imbibe, intimate and embrace the written word of God. Every successful character in the bible adhered to the word of God per their generation and excel. Abraham believed the word of God and the trajectory of his life changed for good, and he started the journey at the ripe age of 75 years, and he fulfilled his purpose in life. Likewise, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Samuel, all the prophets and the apostles had in common, believing in the word of God and lived by it and did exploits in life.

Nobody should expect anything different, adherence to divine instruction manual (the bible) guarantees successful life in all generations. For, it is written: “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8. It is further written, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17. Simply put God does not change or subject to variableness in person or character. Meaning His words of instruction are sacrosanct, infallible, irrevocable and immutable forever. God is forever faithful to His words, therefore repose absolute confidence in the dividends that comes from obedience to His words (Psalm 119:89 & 105, Isaiah 55:11, John 6:63, etc.).

Desiring successful and fulfilling life? Adhere to the instructions in the divine manual. That is why it is written: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8 and also in 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Without any equivocation it is obvious that we are required to prioritize the divine instruction (the bible) above all other considerations in life to success and keep thriving in life. We know that wisdom which is the effective use of knowledge, which is the principal thing. However, without adequate knowledge, understanding cannot be attained. Meaning, good success is life is woven into the knowledge, understanding and correct application of knowledge which is wisdom, is premised on understanding of the instruction furnished by the manufacturer. “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7.

Here comes the main question; what is your attitude to the bible? Why? Because your personal success hinges on your knowledge, understanding and correct application of the knowledge acquired, which is wisdom. Beloved, addict yourself to the study, understanding and application of the instruction of God’s manual for His product which you are. In order to perform optimally in life. For your optimum performance is the perfect will of God (John 10:10). The manual matters, never doubt it, embrace it and addict yourself to it. Your life depends on it. See what the Lord has done.

Cast your mind back, recall where you were, or how it seemed that it can’t be done etcetera. Now see where the Lord has brought and placed you for His glory and to your blessing. They thought you can’t, even your mind told you that you can’t, but the word of God says that your latter end shall be greater than your beginning and God has done it so far for you. Also realizing that the best is yet to come, your best days are ahead of you. Yours is not nostalgia of “good old days” but of greater and better tomorrows ahead of you in the mighty name of Jesus.

Beloved, always endeavor to take stocks of your life in gratitude and thanksgiving to God for what He has done, doing and about to do in the future for you. When you do the above, it will be easy to adhere to the divine truth and exhortation in Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Resting squarely and resolutely on God’s faithfulness in Christ Jesus buoys faith and trust in God. That inevitably endangers joy, peace, success, victory and resounding prosperity in all realms and spheres of life. A clear understanding, that living God who can never lie, has promised solutions to all life’s concerns and desires, it doesn’t get any better. Therefore, repose utter confidence in Him. For He is faithful.

We ought to note and be mindful of the act of reposing utter confidence in God was what distinguished the heroes and heroines in the bible. The same mindset wrote the names of early Christian’s adherent in indelible golden ink for eternity. The same mindset is expected and required of every generation of heroes and heroines of the gospel of God in all generations. In the biblical records Noah, Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Joseph, David, Daniel etcetera trusted in God and made their marks in their generations. Many heroes and heroines’ lines the pages of early church history. Even the contemporary times has many too, even till date. The mindset of yielding to God in faith has been the thread of connection to all the generations of believers. Therefore, we cannot expect anything different of what has always and will always distinguish with distinctions in life and in the walk of faith in God through Christ Jesus. Renew your mind to be set on utter faithfulness of God to His words.

Beloved in Christ Jesus, please open your eyes and see what the Lord has done in your life to date and give Him all the glory, honor and praise for His faithfulness. David encouraged himself in the Lord by casting his mind back to victories and deliverances the Lord wrought in his life. Let’s learn for our forebears and receive the same and much more blessings. Open your eyes and see what the Lord has done, never relativize them as happenstance. Rest assured, that He will do more beyond and above your expectations henceforth and forthwith as you repose utter confidence in Him, with thanksgiving for all He had done till date, Grace and wisdom be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Identity determines the effectiveness of prayer.

It is very important to ascertain your identity and relationship with who you approach in prayers. In religious setting; Prayer is a spiritual act of communication with God, a deity, or a sacred power. In a legal context, a prayer (or prayer for relief) is the final section of a legal document, such as a complaint or petition, where the person filing the lawsuit formally asks the judge to grant specific damages, a specific judgment, or a particular legal remedy. Basically, prayer is the act of making request before a higher authority with confidence and expectation that the request will be granted, when all the necessary legal considerations are observed. In prayer the identity of the one praying to whom he or she is praying to matters. In court a plaintiff prays with confidence for justice to be served while a guilty accused would pray for mercy or leniency. Identity matters, if gotten wrong the request in prayer may be wrong or ineffective.

The same dynamics is also observed in religious setting. In some religions they pray to their masters as slaves with no meaningful relationship to their god or deity. In such situation appeasement and begging will be the tone, content and context of such prayers. While in Christianity it is utterly different; when the disciple asked Jesus to teach them how to pray in both Matthew chapter 4 and Luke chapter 11. The first issued Jesus address and put to rest was the issue of identity that goes thus “Our Father”. In Christianity, man’s relationship with God is Father and children relationship, a love, cordial and deep relationship, beyond and above that of a master or some guru as it is obtained in some other belief systems. The approach and the expectations are bound to be different because of relational factor difference.

Christians are told “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16, it is also written: “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” Psalm 50:15, and “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know” Jeremiah 33:3; among many other such scripture passages biding believers in Christ Jesus to come to God with boldness to obtain their request. Certainly, not because of our personal holiness nor righteousness but because of what God did in Christ Jesus for the salvation of the whole world (John 3:16), that made believers His children.

Christian’s identity makes it clear and accurate for Christians to be confident void of arrogance in prayers to God. Every issue and aspect of life are covered thoroughly in the bible in order for a Christian to know God as his or her heavenly Father, knowing full well that the request will have preference before God. To approach a ruler of a kingdom or country, there are different protocols to be observed by family member and outsider. Family has preferential treatment accorded them, same goes when a born-again Christian calls upon God in prayers. Many passages of the scriptures affirm this truth such as; “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you [c]ask anything in My name, I will do it.” John 14:13-14,”, “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” John 16:23-24., Matthew 7:7-8, etcetera.

God wants your joy to be full, because you have covenant relationship with Him that redefines your identity.
