It was a privilege to attend Chamber Fayetteville's Women of All Generations event yesterday, bringing together women leaders, innovators, and community builders from across Northwest Arkansas.

Thank you to CitiScapes Magazine for the invitation and for supporting opportunities that connect and celebrate women making an impact in our communities. It was inspiring to see so many leaders from both the business and nonprofit sectors in one room, connecting and celebrating other female leaders in our community.

This week, our Philanthropy Club had the opportunity to visit the new Arisa Health Jane Hunt Clinic and learn more about the behavioral health services they provide across Arkansas.

Arisa Health serves communities in 41 Arkansas counties and provides a wide range of mental health and behavioral health services for children, adults, and families. We were especially interested in learning about the support available to students through their school-based programs, which help children and families access counseling and behavioral health services where they spend much of their day.

Thank you to the Arisa Health team for welcoming us, sharing about the new clinic, and helping us better understand the growing need for behavioral health services across our region. 💙

Wednesday night we had the opportunity to visit Ozark Adaptive Sports Association - OZASA during their weekly meet up at Springdale Parks and Recreation. OZASA creates opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities to stay active, connected, and engaged through adaptive sports and recreation. From wheelchair basketball and pickleball to cycling and more, they are creating spaces where everyone belongs and barriers are challenged every day.

Participants traveled from as far as Alma and Huntsville just to be there Wednesday night — a reminder of how important and needed these opportunities are in our region. It was also incredible to see a youth group volunteer alongside participants in the games, learning firsthand about inclusion, accessibility, and community connection.

We are grateful for organizations like OZASA that are helping make Northwest Arkansas a more welcoming and accessible place for everyone. 💙

Next in our Spring 2026 Grantee Spotlight Series is Pathway Cafe, an organization creating meaningful employment pathways and inclusive opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Northwest Arkansas.

Pathway Cafe is building something truly special through its culinary and hospitality Training Academy — a hands-on program designed to help participants build workplace skills, confidence, independence, and community connection. The 12-week program combines classroom learning with real culinary experience focused on communication, customer service, food preparation, teamwork, and more.

We’re grateful to support their mission and excited to see the impact this program will have across our community. 💙

Next in our Spring 2026 Grantee Spotlight Series is Springdale School District and their incredible Special Education department. 💙

Every student deserves a voice, and this grant is helping make that possible for nonverbal and minimally verbal learners across the district. Funding from this grant cycle supported the purchase of specialized iPads used as AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices, giving students new ways to express their needs, share ideas, and connect with their peers and teachers.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to support Springdale Public Schools as they continue creating inclusive learning environments where every student is seen, heard, and empowered. 🗣️✨

Next in our Spring 2026 Grantee Spotlight Series is Life Styles, Inc., an organization that has been supporting adults with developmental disabilities in Northwest Arkansas for nearly 50 years. 💙

Life Styles creates opportunities for individuals with disabilities to build independence, strengthen life skills, and fully engage in their communities through programs focused on supported living, employment, and adult development.

Funding from this grant cycle will support instructional and adaptive materials used in their Adult Development program, helping staff provide hands-on, person-centered learning experiences focused on daily living tasks, fine motor development, and other essential independent living skills.

Through community connection, creativity, education, and skill-building, they are helping adults with disabilities live more independent and fulfilling lives across Northwest Arkansas. We’re grateful to support their mission and the meaningful impact they make every day.

We’re excited to kick off a Grantee Spotlight Series by highlighting organizations that recently received funding through our most recent grant cycle and are making a meaningful difference across Northwest Arkansas. First up is Hardwired NWA

Hardwired NWA partners with CrossFit Commence to provide adaptive fitness opportunities for individuals with disabilities through inclusive workouts tailored to each athlete. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the support, encouragement, and sense of belonging that make this community so special.

They’ve created a space where individuals with spinal cord injuries, limb differences, spina bifida, traumatic brain injuries, and more are not only welcomed, but empowered. What stood out most was seeing athletes of all abilities working side by side, cheering each other on, and building real connections through movement and fitness.

This is so much more than a gym. It’s a community changing lives through movement, connection, accessibility, and inclusion — and we’re grateful to support their mission. 💙

Recently, I had the chance to visit Pedal It Forward NWA’s Springdale location next to the Jones Center and see volunteers refurbish donated bikes for kids and adults across Northwest Arkansas.

Pedal It Forward collects donated bikes, repairs them, and distributes them to people who need transportation, recreation, and access to the outdoors.

Every repaired bike represents more than transportation — it’s summer adventures, healthier living, and new opportunities. Their volunteers are especially busy right now working to get as many bikes as possible into the hands of kids before summer begins.

I also loved seeing how their work keeps bikes and materials out of landfills through repair and reuse. Such a great example of sustainability and community care working hand in hand. 🚲💙
