Another Veteran back in the wind. 🇺🇸 Happy Memorial Day from all of us at VAMP

A huge thank you to Marc at Backwoods Customs for helping make it happen, and to Pete at LegUp Landing Gear for continuing to provide the kits, support, and expertise that help keep these builds moving forward.

This is what it is all about. Giving injured Veterans the opportunity to ride again and reclaim that freedom on two wheels.

If you are, or know, a Veteran rider who could use assistance, reach out to [email protected] and the team at VAMP USA will be in touch.

Get ready for an incredible weekend at the Missing Parts Ride hosted by Emerald Coast Harley-Davidson happening June 26 through 28. Last year, this event raised over $70K, with the remaining donations going directly to VAMP to help modify motorcycles for amputee veterans and get them back in the wind again.

We’re beyond grateful for everything Emerald Coast Harley-Davidson does for the veteran community, and we cannot wait to be back for another unforgettable ride. We’ll be out there riding with everyone all weekend long, honoring our veterans, building community, and doing what we love most. See you on the road.

What started as an upgrade turned into something much bigger.

Brandon C, a previous VAMP recipient, came back to us because his current setup still wasn’t giving him the comfort and control he needed after injuries sustained in combat. That’s exactly why VAMP exists. When something isn’t right, we keep going until it is.

Working alongside Marc and Alan at Backwoods Customs, the solution became clear. A center stand and air ride setup built for stability, safety, and long-term comfort. With support from Mark at American Suspension, we were able to get Brandon exactly what he needed.

He picked up his bike this morning, and moments like that are what this is all about.

This doesn’t happen without the people behind it. The donors, the shops, the riders, and the community who continue to show up and trust the process. Your support directly changes lives.

We’re heading back out with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office for this annual ride supporting Special Olympics North Carolina and we want you with us. VAMP will be riding again this year, showing up for something bigger than ourselves.

If you’re local, come out, ride alongside us, and be part of a day that gives back. Good people, real impact, and a cause worth showing up for.

A devastating EF-0 tornado struck American Legion Burton-Cowell Post 265 in Jacksonville, NC on March 12, 2026, destroying the building in under a minute with winds reaching 85 mph.

This Post sits just outside Camp Lejeune and has long been a strong supporter of VAMP and the veteran community, including helping fund projects like getting an 81 year old USAF veteran back on his motorcycle.

The Legion Riders and Post members regularly support veteran initiatives and host community events such as weekly bingo and the County Fair. Now they need our support.

If you are able, please consider sending a donation to help them rebuild.

Riding season is back! Even the guys at VAMP take time to get out and enjoy the ride.

Recently Jack Stottlemire (VAMP Founder) and Jason Sawyer (East Coast Ops Director) took a few days for a moto camping trip. The weather was perfect and it was a great chance to unplug, listen to the frogs, do a little fishing, smoke some ci**rs, and relax around camp.

A special thank you to JCO Campground for the great campsite as well. If you are looking for a place to take a break and enjoy the outdoors, check them out: https://www.junipercreekoutfitters.com/

With the weather warming up, please keep an eye out for riders and have a great Spring. Also keep an eye out for more VAMP project posts. Exciting things are happening.

Kevin S., a GWOT veteran who retired after 20 years in the Army, recently received a special surprise thanks to the people closest to him and the VAMP community.

Kevin’s wife, Mardy, quietly worked with Marc at Backwoods Customs in Raeford, NC to coordinate an upgrade for Kevin’s 2008 Street Glide. Marc teamed up with Jason and Jack from VAMP to bring the project together. Pete G. also stepped in once again, providing a LegUp LandingGear kit. Pete and VAMP have worked together for years, and his support continues to make a real difference for veterans.

What Kevin didn’t know was that every part, service, and hour of labor was fully covered by Marc at Backwoods Customs and VAMP.

This is what VAMP is all about. Not recognition, but continuing the mission of Putting Veterans Back in the Wind.

Kevin and Mardy, thank you both for your service and for allowing us to be part of your journey.
