🐾 Did You Know?

Some companies do not test their products on animals, some only do so when required by law in certain countries, and others may rely on third-party testing or ingredient suppliers. Because of this, terms like “cruelty-free” aren’t always as straightforward as they seem.

If this is an issue that’s important to you, take a few minutes to research the brands you use. Many companies publish their animal-testing policies on their websites, and independent organizations like Leaping Bunny maintain lists of brands that meet their certification standards.

This post isn’t intended to tell anyone what they should or shouldn’t buy. At the Humane Society of Lincoln County, we simply believe that an informed community is an empowered community, and we enjoy sharing educational information about topics that affect animals.

Knowledge is a powerful tool—and every informed choice has the potential to make a difference.

🚨 TNR TRAP DAY! Please Help Us Help Them! 🚨

If you regularly feed the community cat colony near IGA and Pizza Inn, we have one very important favor to ask:

🐾 Please do NOT feed the colony today. 🐾

We will be setting traps this evening for a small Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) effort. Hungry cats are much more likely to enter the traps, allowing us to get them safely spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and returned to the place they call home.

Every cat we are able to alter means:
🐱 Fewer kittens born into a hard life.
🐱 Healthier cats.
🐱 A healthier, more stable colony.

We know these cats are loved by many people in our community, and we appreciate everyone who looks out for them. Skipping just one day’s feeding gives us the best chance of helping them for years to come.

💙 Help us help them. Sometimes the kindest thing you can do is simply wait one day.

Today was a wonderful reminder of what can happen when a community works together.

A huge THANK YOU to the Fayetteville Police Department and Lincoln County Animal Control for stopping by with a generous donation of cat food and litter! ❤️🐾

These donations may look like bags of food and litter, but to the animals in our care, they mean full bellies, clean spaces, comfort, and hope. Every bag helps us stretch our resources a little further so we can continue helping the animals who need us most.

We are incredibly grateful for our friends at Animal Control and the Fayetteville Police Department. Animal welfare is not something any one organization can accomplish alone. It takes partnerships. It takes communication. It takes people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and work toward a common goal.

This is community in action.

To our partners—thank you for standing beside us. We are proud to work alongside you for the animals of Lincoln County.

There are people trying to sell shirts on our page claiming to be with the Humane Society of Lincoln County. They are not. If you have purchased a shirt that has been posted in some of the comments this is a scam!!! Do not respond to anyone who comments they have shirts for sale for the benefit of our organization! See the picture for an example. They have been posted under many names and have tagged many of our followers. If you would like a Humane Society shirt feel free to stop by our office or see us at first Saturday!
