The Future- "...this world is not all there is, a fact that offers comfort for those who are oppressed and correction for those who are excessively consumed with the world's 'perks.' What should our actions and attitudes be as we wait for Christ to return and to make His world right?" CBS James Study Lesson 6 Commentary

"We struggle with our desires... Whatever form the conflict takes, it is evidence of a real war raging within the human heart. At the center of the war are our passions... James was referring to desires so strong that they insist on being satisfied, even at a cost to our relationships." CBS James Study Lesson 5 Commentary

"As James came to the end of some heart-penetrating teaching, he held out comfort and assurance: 'Mercy triumphs over judgement' (James 2:13). God has shown us mercy through Christ; now our mercy toward others can testify to the evidence of Christ within us." CBS James Study Lesson 3 Commentary

"Think about James as a wisdom book. James is often compared with Proverbs in the Old Testament because it contains so much wisdom for living... the God intended outcome of this head-and-heart faith is a hands-and-feet faith. He wants us to master the art of living in a way that glorifies Him." -James Study Lesson 1 Commentary
