This is just one of the many projects we have proudly supported over the past year. Thanks to our dedicated members and community fundraising efforts, we were able to contribute the final funds needed for the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina at the Lions Cottage (Lake Waccamaw) to replace their outdated resident transport van. This achievement was made possible by our incredible members and successful fundraisers, including our annual Oyster Roast and Golf Tournament. We would like to extend a special thanks to Lion Scott Stephenson for his consistent, hard work in securing this new van for the Lions Cottage.

We are always looking for new members to help us support and serve on projects just like this one. Come join us at our weekly meetings on Thursdays at 7 PM, dinner is served at each meeting. We are located at 1613 Camden Road, Fayetteville.

For all our Lions Clubs across NC, the time has come! You did it! You raised enough money to buy a new van for your cottage. Right now, the van is in the process of getting wrapped with your Lions logo and will soon carry the Lions boys around the area. Much thanks to Vann Underwood Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram for taking on the challenge of searching for vans for our campus. “Transforming Lives, One Pair of Glasses At A Time” is the mission of SHINE FOR SIGHT, a nonprofit organization in Fayetteville founded by Dr. Brittani Carver. That is exactly what she and her nonprofit organizations President Andrew Dominguez are doing both locally and globally.

The Massey Hill Lions Club hosted Dr. Carver and Mr. Dominguez last evening to learn more about their program and to see how our Club may be able to support their organization considering providing vision services is a mutual interest. What a great organization they have put together to provide humanitarian services for others.

SHINE FOR SIGHT is a faith-driven nonprofit committed to restoring vision and expanding access to essential eye care. The name comes from Matthew 5:16 — “Let your light shine before others…” — a reminder that the skills and opportunities God gives us are meant to be used in service to others.

In addition to their presentation, they delivered hundreds of eyeglasses, frames and much more for use by NC Lions and our project “Glasses for Ghana.” This gift will be put to great use and as Dr. Carver’s mission statement, it will indeed “Transform Lives, One Pair of Glasses At a Time!”
