🚨 BREAKING: South Carolina’s 6-week abortion ban is now in effect after the state Supreme Court upheld the ban. This is an enormous loss for South Carolinians' reproductive autonomy. Here’s what you need to know:

📢 Many people don't know they're pregnant at 6 weeks.

📢 SC has even more restrictions than Georgia, the other state with a 6-week ban.

📢 Even if people know they are pregnant, delays like getting an appointment, the resources to pay + making other arrangements like taking time off work means accessing care will be almost impossible.

📢 We know that anti-abortion policymakers won’t stop at a 6-week ban. The goal is always a total end to abortion access.

This ban not only has devastating impacts for South Carolinians, but across the region. With this in effect, Florida is the only state in the region where people can seek abortions after 12 weeks. And abortion access is at risk there too.

We know those who are already and will continue to be most impacted by abortion bans are people marginalized by systemic racism and economic insecurity.

Donating to abortion funds like Carolina Abortion Fund and Palmetto State Abortion Fund is more essential than ever to support people’s access to care.
