Power Forward is a Christ-centered youth outreach program located in Fayetteville, NC that uses food, prayer, talking and basketball to engage with young African Americans in our community.

Just sharing some images from Hakim Isler - Black MacGyver visit a few weeks ago. He dropped some wisdom about resilience and toughness on about 30 young men and women Highland Presbyterian Church. Grateful for the opportunity to be with these young men and women.

Just sharing some snaps from Smitty's visit with us on January 4th. He dropped some great wisdom on these young folks. We also handed out 5 pairs of socks to each of these young men and women. We met at Highland Presbyterian Church and had about 30 in attendance. We ate, talked, prayed and hooped. Jim Schaffer, Rich Falter and Rick Perko continue to manage all of this. Big thanks to Marvin Price at FTCC Foundation, Inc. for speaking to our youths before Christmas. We had about 30 young men and few young women. Wonderful last Wednesday with Antonio Gerald sharing some words of wisdom and encouragement with our young men. We met at Highland Presbyterian Church, ate, talked, prayed and hooped. Great to see some of the younger guys attending.

We were grateful to have Elaina Ball speak to about 20 young men and a few women this past Wednesday. She was fantastic and talked about perseverance and hard work. We met at Highland Presbyterian Church and ate, talked, prayed and played ball. Jim Schaffer continues to head our efforts. Back at it in just a few more days.

Our PowerForward group had a great visit from former Special Forces soldier Jason Orello Krista Gonzales Orello. He dropped some great words of wisdom on the guys about never giving up. We had about 15 last night at Highland Presbyterian Church where we ate, talked, prayed and played. Jim Schaffer continues to lead our efforts.

Great visit from EJ Snyder last week to share some wisdom and life lessons with the group of young men. He even talked about his experiences on Naked and Afraid. He is the GOAT. We had about 25 young men at Highland Presbyterian Church, and we ate, talked, prayed and hooped. continues to lead our team.👊

Great visit from Marvin Price Jr. this past Wednesday, sharing his story and providing some holiday motivation. All while still jet-lagged after a return from Hawaii – gohawaii.com. We had about 22 young men, and we ate pizza, talked, prayed and played at Highland Presbyterian Church. Jim Schaffer continues to lead our team.

We had a Super Bowl Champion in the house last week at Highland Presbyterian Church as Vonta Leach stopped by to share his time and words of wisdom. He was an East Carolina University student athlete and won his ring with the Baltimore Ravens. As usual we ate, played hoops, prayed and listened to Vonta. These young are better for his encouragement. Check out the pictures below.
