Our sweet corn was enjoyed by a group of raccoons this past weekend. Thankfully they did not disturb anything else!

We have string beans, cucumbers, zucchini, rhubarb, and peppers currently available. We will have squash, lots of tomatoes, carrots, and pumpkins in the near future. We have had very timely rains this summer, so things are growing well, including the weeds. 🙂

Please stop by the garden to look and to enjoy the produce.

The Fayette Community Garden is planted for 2026. 🙂

Thanks to Andrew, April, and Emma for assisting with the planting! Also thank you to Whitney and Andrea and UIU staff and students for helping move mulch into the garden in April, to Loren for allowing us to use water from his shop to water the garden, and thank you to the Fayette County Extension Office for the seeds!

Thanks also to Sharon for the generous gift for purchasing plants and for the beautiful butterfly which now graces our sign!

This year we are growing: cauliflower, eggplant, sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, kohlrabi, cucumbers, watermelon, zucchini, squash, cantaloupe, parsley, thyme, radishes, beans, peas, basil, strawberries, onions, chives, rhubarb, as well as flowers to attract butterflies and hummingbirds.

The Fayette tree board also planted a pear tree and a peach tree on the west end by the garden.

Looking forward to another great summer!

Community Garden Friends: We will be planting the garden on Thursday, May 21 starting at 5:15 pm!!!

Also, we are seeking a low trailer (perhaps one that transports a lawn mower) and a sturdy two wheel dolly to move 21 containers (similar to those we already have) which are full of dirt from a home in Fayette to the Community Garden. Please let us know if you have a trailer or dollys we can use! Thank you!
