Travel tips:

If you plan on soaring the skies to a CA airport, the local insiders have a few tips for you when you land...

Ontario is the closest airport and the easiest to get in and out of. Orange County is 2nd closest–a busier airport and more freeway traffic getting to Big Bear. Burbank and Palm Springs are a little further, but easy to get in and out of. LAX is a few hours away but it can be difficult to get in and out of, and has the most freeway traffic in getting to Big Bear.

There are multiple ways to experience Big Bear if you plan to say overnight and there are plenty of great dining options. Learn about traveling to and enjoying Big Bear including how to get around, where to stay, and what to eat https://www.bigbear.com/

Stay tuned to this page for more event information. You can access everything you need, such as activity schedules and maps in one place here https://www.friendsofbigbearvalley.org/big-bear-ecotourism/special-event/

2023 OAD FIELD GUIDE - Know before you go!

We can't wait to see you this weekend! If you plan on attending our 8th annual Outdoor Adventure Days then save this post.

First of all we are so thankful for your support! This event is a sampling of the amazing and diverse outdoor activities available in Big Bear Valley from boating and birding to wildflower walks and gorgeous hikes. Our intention is to support the local economy through the enjoyment and appreciation of the area’s beautiful natural surroundings, easy accessibility and unique species and habitats.

We have a great lineup made possible by our local business partners and sponsors that include land and water birding tours, hiking secret trails, wildflower viewing, paddleboarding, forest yoga, eco experts, and an eagle party for Jackie and Shadow fans complete with a very special eagle dancer and our own Sandy Speers.

We will have plenty of booths and activities for kids, and kids at heart. From coloring to kayaking, there is definitely something for everyone! The best part…
