From Mayor/City Council;
With the pending nationwide snowstorm scheduled to arrive late Saturday into early Sunday, our Director of Public Works is asking us ALL to have patience and allow them the time and support necessary to clear the snow expected from this impending major snowfall.
While the Public Works Department is prepared and ready to maintain city streets, due to the nationwide salt shortage, we must conserve salt whenever possible.
This will make this difficult but manageable task even harder, so we definitely need your support as our crews work through this monumental event.
Also, as needed, we plan to staff additional personnel within the Fire Department to assist residents and outside agencies with any emergencies that may arise during this snow event.
Per our Public Safety Director PLEASE adhere to the following Safety Tips :
Have food and water available for 3-4 days
Bring in your outside pets
Do Not use space heaters, or use ovens as a heat source
Check basement areas of your home, for water issues, broke pipes, etcβ¦β¦.
And lastly...CHECK ON YOUR NEIGHBORS!!!
We are listed as a warming center if needed for anyone in the area, this is also known at the County level, If anyone needs anything, they can contact the Fire Department direct at (724)983-2707, Non emergency Number to 911 (724)662-6110, or if you have an emergency call 911
