Yes, it is ridiculously late. However, we were so absolutely swamped leading up to Christmas that we are finally starting to find footing on solid ground.
Thank you to all of you that helped in any capacity, at any time, to ensure these 111 children received something for Christmas. While we appreciate the outpouring of community support, donations were scathingly less than usual this year. While, yes, that means some children at least received "something" for Christmas, it also means that many of our neighbors did not receive that "magical Christmas" feeling that we strive so hard to provide. As you go about your week, seeing extreme discounts on coats, clothes, toys, hygiene items & more, we hope that you will consider purchasing a few here and there so that we will have them for Christmas this year (& at a much better price)!
Anything below is only thanking people that have not publicly received a thank you from us, especially those that donated closer to pickup times, when every second counted, and we didn't have time to thank everyone individually.
Now, let us be abundantly clear: no matter what, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the following people & groups made Christmas possible this year for so many children, that otherwise would have had nothing:
Amanda Coleman Toschlog (items from the wishlist)
Amy & Matt McMahon (coats, toys, slime, etc.)
Blair & Brent Umphlette (adopted a family & provided amazing gifts for that family)
Bonnie's (105 Christmas Dinners!)
Connie Corey, Real Estate Agent (adopted multiple kids & provided arts and crafts & more to others)
Diane Ross Murphrey (monetary donation)
Farmville Fire Department (monetary donation directly towards Christmas dinners!)
First Christian Church (additional monetary donation)
Harley Breland (volunteered: organizing, sorting, wrapping, delivering)
Helen Reel (monetary donation)
Jessica Breland (volunteered: sorting & organizing)
Jessica Harris (adopting a child from the wishlist)
Joe & Elaine Pickett (Christmas trees)
Kathy Lang (Christmas tree & décor)
Katie Tetterton (adopted a kid with items from their wishlist & extras)
King's Crossroads Women's Auxiliary & College and Career Class (multiple toy donations)
Kiwanis Club (adopted multiple kids and even purchased the expensive stuff from their wishlist!)
Lachelle Bell (volunteered: organizing clothes & wrapping)
Lauren & Brett Schreckengost (games, diaries, journals, games & arts and crafts)
Madison Holt (adopted a special needs child from the wishlist)
Monk Church Men's Group (monetary donation)
Parker's Chapel (monetary donation)
Rising Stars (monetary donation)
TCA Auto (monetary donation & puzzles, games, & toys)
Terry Callahan (monetary donation)
Thomas Turnage (Christmas tree)
Tommy & Katie Brady (adopted a special needs child fr the wishlist & brought items for several others from the wishlist!)
Walmart 7222 (adopted a child from the wishlist)

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, for making Christmas possible for these children. Without you they would have probably woken up to emptiness Christmas morning, & whether or not they are old enough to "understand" why they don't get a Christmas... We truly believe that each and every child deserves a magical Christmas, but for now, we will settle for our children, right here.

(& if you have some free time & want to help organize the chaos that is left, shoot us a message!)

In all our years, we have never accidentally dropped off a cat (or purposely). Thank you to everyone who made this possible. 111 kids will have Christmas because of all of you. Merry Christmas everyone 🎄

Out of 111 kids... All but 39 are taken care of! Afternoon & late night deliveries and pickups are in the near future! If you've donated & we haven't thanked you yet, we apologize, we promise we will get to you asap! With the fact that their are 39 kids remaining, you never know what a child might like. We will continue taking donations tomorrow and hope a few more of you will help some last minute children to wake up to something for Christmas. 🎄

There are also still tons of kids that asked for clothes. Most of them at least have underwear and socks. Absolutely everyone on the list has a toothbrush & toothpaste, & we will most likely still have maybe 50 left after pickups and deliveries are over.

While we strive to make Christmas magical for each child, it appears several older kids will be lacking. To be completely transparent, some kids had extensive wishlists, which gives us a better Idea of what the child likes to do and see in their free time and the majority of those kids have "enough" to be acceptable. (For those of you who don't know, that specifically means Melissa Spencer isn't happy, but will have to do. It also means that several are not "enough" or "acceptable". As no child should go without Christmas, ever.) Alas, the first round of pickups is ridiculously soon & we appreciate those of you (especially Kathy Small, who is the main reason these teens have anything) that have made sure some kids will not go without Christmas. We ask that those of you that have not donated this year take a few seconds, remember your own childhood Christmases, & imagine what they could have been like if you just happened to be in a family going through a hard time...

We realize the economy is not in the best place, and some people are one unexpected bill or setback from homelessness. Just remember, every little bit helps & these are our neighbors, the children in your child's classroom at school, the children on their recreational football team, just children going through a hard time. If you can not give, please share, & /or say a prayer for these babies that you talk to in the grocery store. Two of these families do not even have heat. We have gotten some of these kids electric blankets, but if you have suggestions on how we can help these kids please reach out.

Lastly, if you have actually read this far, we appreciate you. We have 100 people requesting Christmas dinners and at this point, no way to pay for them. We are open to ideas and suggestions. Thank you for your time, patience, and consideration.
