It is with great pride and admiration that we honor Bryan Araujo Pedreira as this year’s Young Man of the Year. Born in 2005 in the United States, Bryan’s heart has always belonged to Portugal. From the time he could speak, he proudly declared, “I’m from Portugal,” and from that moment on, his love for Portuguese culture only grew deeper.
Bryan has been an active and devoted member of the Portuguese-American community in Farmingville for many years. As Vice President of the Portuguese American Center of Suffolk Youth Group, he brings energy, leadership, and fresh ideas to every project—attending NYPALC meetings, advocating for youth involvement, and helping organize events that unite young people through culture. Whether assisting volunteers, setting up for dinners, or clearing tables at gatherings, Bryan leads by example—with humility, enthusiasm, and pride. He also represents his heritage on the field as a proud member of the PAC Soccer Club of Farmingville.
Bryan doesn’t just talk about his heritage—he lives it. He consistently invites his American friends to experience Portuguese events, spreading the joy, unity, and values that define the Portuguese spirit. With passion, responsibility, and deep respect for tradition, Bryan embodies the very best of the next generation of Portuguese-Americans. His dedication ensures that the richness of Portuguese culture will continue to thrive for years to come.

É com enorme orgulho e admiração que homenageamos Bryan Araujo Pedreira como o Jovem do Ano. Nascido em 2005 nos Estados Unidos, o coração de Bryan sempre pertenceu a Portugal. Desde que começou a falar, afirmava com orgulho: “Sou de Portugal”, e a partir desse momento o seu amor pela cultura portuguesa apenas se tornou mais profundo.
Bryan tem sido um membro ativo e dedicado da comunidade luso-americana de Farmingville durante muitos anos. Como Vice-Presidente do Grupo de Jovens do Portuguese American Center of Suffolk, traz energia, liderança e ideias inovadoras a cada projeto — participando em reuniões da NYPALC, promovendo a participação da juventude e ajudando a organizar eventos que unem os jovens através da cultura. Seja a apoiar voluntários, a preparar jantares ou a arrumar mesas nos convívios, Bryan lidera pelo exemplo — com humildade, entusiasmo e orgulho. Representa ainda as suas raízes em campo, como membro orgulhoso do PAC Soccer Club em Farmingville.
Bryan não se limita a falar das suas origens — ele vive-as. Convida constantemente os seus amigos americanos a participar em eventos portugueses, difundindo a alegria, a união e os valores que definem o espírito português.
