Capacity Builders, Inc. CBI operates with a focus on creating jobs and innovating economic development opportunities for Native American and disenfranchised residents.

Capacity Builders, Inc. Founded almost twenty years ago, we dedicate our time, determination, and synergy into accomplishing two core goals. Our first goal is to build the capacity of the poorest and neediest tribal nonprofits and communities in the United States so that they can effectively improve the lives of Native American youth and families. We do this by providing capacity building and lead

ership training as well as business incubation and support that lead to job creation and economic independence for the Diné and other Native American people. Our second goal is to improve the health, wellness, and quality of life of the Diné people (a traditional term for the Navajo). We do this by providing direct services to hundreds of schools and community agencies on the Navajo reservation. These include teenage pregnancy prevention education, drug and alcohol prevention education and outreach, academic and service learning programs, and cooperative planning with network providers. Included in many of our initiatives are cultural learning and appreciation components. We do this because we believe that love, appreciation, and understanding for one's culture leads to a better, healthier more rewarding life.
