Back to School: Safety, Success & Community Partnerships

In this week’s episode of The Mayor’s Table, Superintendent Cody Deal and Safety & Security Supervisor Dale Bode from Farmington Municipal Schools share important updates for the 2025–26 school year and how community partnerships are helping our students thrive.

From stronger literacy and math programs, new career pathways including aviation, and expanded middle school electives, to the “Handle with Care” trauma support program and enhanced campus safety measures, Farmington schools are working hard to give every student a safe and supportive place to learn.

We also discuss new policies to reduce distractions in classrooms, responsible use of AI in education, and how parents and community members can make a difference, whether it’s attending a school event, volunteering, or simply encouraging a student in your life.

Let’s keep showing up for our students, our teachers, and our schools.

Strong schools mean a stronger San Juan County.
