This year brought one of BTM’s largest projects to life: Claudie’s Garden at SubEdge Farm.  This garden is an inclusive space that grows organic food, fosters community, and stands as a living tribute to Claude Marie Barthelmes.  Many of you made donations in her memory last year, and we used those funds in building this living tribute to her.  She modeled love and compassion toward those with different abilities.

A Special Thanks to:
- Roger and Isabelle Phillips for allowing us to build this garden on their farm.
-The many volunteers that helped build and maintain the garden especially Tri-Son’s Building Contractors .
-Those who made donations to BTM in lieu of flowers in Claude’s memory.
-The John G. Martin Foundation for their generous grant and support.

Please help us continue our mission as we look to build off our successful inaugural season by providing valuable work opportunities for individuals of all abilities.

Donate today at www.bethoughtfulmovement.org/donate and help us continue creating meaningful opportunities for those who need it most.

Did you know that a key focus of The Be Thoughtful Movement’s mission is to find ways to bring people with and without disabilities together in local communities. One way to do this is through social events. Socialization is so important and often missing in so many of the lives of the people we support. Having a safe and welcoming place to socialize with friends once a week is often a highlight of their week.

This year we helped cover the cost for individuals to join a local Adult Support Services program. This program sponsors daily zoom calls for friends to meet up and play games, as well as multiple in-person opportunities to socialize, including walks, movie nights, and Friday night social gatherings.
Your gift can make a big difference in enhancing the social lives and fulfillment of our friends with different abilities.
Donate today at www.bethoughtfulmovement.org/donate and help us continue creating meaningful moments for those who need it most.

On this Giving Tuesday, we hope you will consider donating to The Be Thoughtful Movement to help us further our mission to find ways to bring people with and without disabilities together in local communities and workplaces.

This year, in addition to providing scholarships for two individuals to attend a local adult support program that sponsors social events, The Be Thoughtful Movement completed a very special project that we hope to support for many years to come.

Earlier this year, BTM sponsored the creation of a community garden at Sub-Edge Farm in Farmington, CT. This inclusive garden was built and designed for those with physical limitations in mind, and is dedicated to the memory of Claude Marie Barthelmes, Harold’s grandmother and strong advocate for inclusion and accessibility in all spaces. Claudie would have loved Sub-Edge Farm and this garden. We are very grateful to Isabelle and Roger Phillips for allowing us to create this garden in her honor in such a beautiful place!

The intention of the garden is to make it easier for all people, of all abilities, to see, touch, and watch plants grow and bear fruit, while being part of a more compassionate community. We also hope to continue to use the garden for volunteer work opportunities for individuals of all abilities.

We are grateful for your continued support through the years. As they say, a picture(s) is worth a thousand words!!
