Nutmeg TV is always at the ready to help our municipal partners!
NUTMEG TV TO RESUME CITY COUNCIL MEETING COVERAGE BEGINNING THIS MONTH.
Beginning March 10, Bristol’s Joint and City Council meetings will once again be produced and broadcast on Nutmeg public access television.
When City Hall was revamped, the Nutmeg TV contract was not renewed. Unfortunately, the current audio set-up in Council Chambers has limitations and there have been many complaints about the poor audio and visual quality of the meetings, especially for online viewers.
“What we’ve since realized was that while Zoom is a good alternative, it also has its limitations, stated Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu. "Therefore, together with Nutmeg, we are investigating ways to marry the systems, so the production value is retained. In addition, many of our older citizens are not technically savvy and miss the opportunity to tune into Nutmeg TV to watch what’s happening within their city government.”
“We value our partnership with the many municipalities we serve and are excited to renew our relationship with the City of Bristol, which spans more than 30 years,” said Joanie Wedler, CEO/Executive Director of Nutmeg TV. “One of the areas Nutmeg TV excels for our many municipal partners is being the safety net during meetings, when technology and automation fail,” said Chris Bennett Director of IT and Production Services at Nutmeg.
Monthly meetings are posted online within 24-72 hours of the meetings. They can be watched on YouTube or Nutmeg’s website https://nutmegtv.com/shows/bristol-city-council/ and also posted to the City’s website for ease of use.
For those with cable, the meetings also air on these channels every Monday and Tuesday at 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm and 9pm on: Comcast channels 96 and 1071 and Frontier channel 6062.
