Thank you, Four Corners Community Bank, for your generous support of the Cathy Lincoln Memorial Cancer Fund. Your gift helps local women facing cancer-related medical expenses. 💙

As we approach Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re proud to recognize the work of the Cathy Lincoln Memorial Cancer Fund and the legacy behind it.

Cathy Lincoln was a lifelong San Juan County resident, a wife and mother, and a nurse who was diagnosed with breast cancer at just 39 years old. She continued caring for her patients while facing her own battle with cancer before passing away at the age of 42.

Cathy believed that early detection could give people a better chance at fighting cancer and that the cost of healthcare should never stand in the way of receiving treatment.

Today, the Cathy Lincoln Memorial Cancer Fund carries that belief forward by providing financial assistance to women in San Juan County who are facing cancer-related medical expenses.

We were honored to support this important local fund with a donation earlier this year. As October approaches, we hope you'll join us in raising awareness, supporting those affected by cancer, and remembering the power of compassion within our community.

A Home Away From Home

Twice a week, every week, for six weeks — that's how often Michael and his mom Eleanor made the two-and-a-half-hour drive from Mexican Hat, Utah, to Farmington for Michael's rehabilitational therapy after a blood clot and stent procedure.

Every visit, they stayed at the Connelly Hospitality House.

"This is a very homely place," Eleanor said. "You feel at home and everything's here for you."

Michael agreed. Asked what he thought of the house, he summed it up in a few words and a smile: "This place? Nice."

Between appointments and exercises, the drive and the recovery, Eleanor says the stress of it all is real — but having a warm place to land made all the difference. "I appreciate having them open to us," she said, "to help complete his exercise, his therapy."

A big part of that? The people. Eleanor and Michael got to know our house coordinator, Veronica, very well over their stay. "She is a very sweet person," Eleanor said. "The things she did for us and helped us with, the hospitality... I appreciate this place."

This week, Michael graduated from his therapy program — a milestone worth celebrating for him, for Eleanor, and for everyone at San Juan Medical Foundation who got to walk alongside them.

We're so glad you were here, Michael and Eleanor. Congratulations!
