πŸ‘‘ Royal treatment at Adelaide Elementary today! πŸ‘‘
A huge thank you to HB Boys, the local franchisees of Burger King, for visiting our 1st and 3rd grade classrooms β€” and for going way above and beyond. Every single student at Adelaide is heading into summer with 10 free meals from Burger King. That's thousands of meals to help bridge the gap when school is out.
Summer hunger is real for so many kids in our community, and partners like HB Boys make sure no child has to wonder where their next meal is coming from. The crowns were a hit. The generosity is unmatched.
Thank you, HB Boys, for being a true champion for Davis kids. πŸ’›

πŸ† Big things are happening in Davis School District! πŸŽ‰

Our amazing high school students have been putting in the WORK all year β€” competing, learning, and growing through their Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs). And now? They've EARNED their spots at NATIONALS! 🌟

But getting there takes more than hard work β€” it takes resources. We're asking our incredible community to help send these deserving students to represent Davis School District on the national stage.

Every dollar helps a student's dream become reality. πŸ’›

This holiday season, Davis County showed up for our kids β€” and we have the check to prove it. πŸ’™

Thanks to the Light the World Giving Machine in Ogden, Davis Education Foundation received $52,125 in community donations.

That's:
βœ… 1,286 school lunches
βœ… 556 hygiene kits
βœ… 248 ukuleles
βœ… 204 vision canes
βœ… 333 welcome baskets

100% of every dollar goes directly to what donors chose. No overhead. No exceptions.

We are so grateful for this community. These resources are going to work for Davis County students right now.

Thank you, Ogden. Thank you, Davis County. Thank you to everyone who stopped at a Giving Machine this December. πŸ™

🌟 A Mighty Heart in Action

Today at Knowlton Elementary, Shaunee McFadden was surprised with the $10,000 Heidi Martin Mighty Heart Educator of Excellence Award. The room was full β€” Foundation board members, district leaders, school board members and staff all showed up to celebrate her.

But here’s what says everything: Even with an assembly in her honor, Shaunee was in the back of her classroom helping a student through a difficult moment. Staff had to create an elaborate plan just to get her there. When she realized what was happening, she was overwhelmed with emotion and couldn’t speak.

That’s what a mighty heart looks like. Read the full story and see photos from the day: πŸ‘‰ https://www.daviseducationfoundation.org/o/def/article/2713580

Boeing recently visited the Davis Catalyst Center to present a $50,000 grant supporting aviation and the new AI Engineering course.

Students shared what they’re building right now, including AI-enabled glasses designed for warehouse management and hands-on learning in the aviation simulators.

Thank you, Boeing, for investing in students and career-ready learning.

Join the No Hunger Zone and Tackle Hunger!

This Super Bowl season, let’s work together to make a meaningful difference for students in our community. With 1 in 6 children in Utah facing food insecurity, the Davis Education Foundation invites you to join the No Hunger Zone 2025 campaign. Your donation will support critical food assistance programs, including Pantry Packs, Emergency Food Boxes, and Principal Pantries. Every dollar helps fill food pantries, provides meals to students in crisis, and ensures no child goes hungry.

Davis School District has some absolute rockstars in the classroom, and we’re excited to recognize our most recent Excellence in Education recipients.

Each educator received a $200 classroom grant made possible by the Murdock Family Foundation, powered in part by customers of the Murdock Auto Team. A portion of every car sold helps support community giving, including classroom grants right here in Davis.
