Today’s Monday Member Pop-In took us to a unique place. Somewhere that is so special to so many people. We went to The Stables and got to play with the horses.
Can I just say, WOW!!!! Not only were the horses so cute, the facilities beautiful, the land picturesque, but the staff and crew are superb.
Are you at least 14 or know of someone that us older than 14, that has a desire to do something that matters, not afraid of horses? Well, here is the perfect volunteer opportunity. No, this isn't for stall cleanup either. This would be working with the horses or the clients, doing something that you see the impact. The staff would love the chance to talk to you.
Now for something AMAZING!!!!!!! Farmington is now home to 1 of only 4 Dessage Pro riding machines in the USA. This piece of equipment will help their clients that have fear or struggles on a horse to help with training and not add unnecessary stress to the horses. We LOVE this and our ambassadors were given a first look and able to do some test runs.
The Stables do so much for our community and on so many levels. From helping with physical therapy, socialization, mental health, and so much more.
If you are interested in learning more or volunteering, please reach out to the by clicking their name in this post or stopping by their facility on Old Fredericktown Rd.

These pictures may not look exciting, but it's meetings like this that help get things accomplished. Being a convener of leaders is one role of the Chamber of Commerce within a community. Our goal is to advocate on behalf of our businesses and our community as a whole.

This meeting with local mental health providers, law enforcement, healthcare leaders, shelter directors, the St. Francois County Public Administrator, and Judge King, addressed the state requirements needed for the Public Administrator to become guardians for individuals in need of mental health services or healthcare.
We are proud to kickstart these vital conversations not only on behalf of Farmington but also on behalf of St. Francois County.

Today’s Monday Member Pop-In takes us to a unique facility. By that I mean, the only one like it in the state of Missouri. They are pioneering a new way of educating 0-5 year old in our area.
Lead by Ashley Smith, this school is reaching new heights and breaking chains on what preschool looks like.
Little Learners Farmington is not your typical preschool. They are a fully licensed and Missouri Accredited Educational Facility. Why do they have that special accreditation you ask? Well, that is because they stepped up and said we love these children and learning is so critical during these formative years. This means that they have to have so much math, science, and other subjects taught. But that isnt the only thing that makes them special. How about the fact that they are teaching children with hands on learning. They have a working farm in the back of the school. This small farm includes all kinds of veggies, flowers, and even chickens. Yes....CHICKENS!!! You know I had to play with them. The children get to benefit from fresh produce that they were able to be a part of watching and helping them grow.
Now for the rooms the children get to play in. I wanted to play in these rooms. So many amazing toys and play areas to choose from, including a climbing wall. You read that right.
While the building and all the rooms are impressive, I would have to say it is the teachers and staff that are making a real difference. Each teacher that we met with had so much love for the children in their care. They really want the best for their kids. The teachers were having fun and working hard to keep the children safe and well cared for.
Ashley has had big plans and even bigger dreams for this learning center because that is what it is, a learning center. She wants to build a place where kids feel loved, cared for, and given a good education. Little Learners is trailblazing a path for early learning centers in Missouri.
Thank you Madison Nicholson with Nicholson Heating & Air for joining me and playing with the chickens.
