This Labor Day, we honor the workers who keep our country running. Every day, our 1.2 million members show up to feed, serve, and strengthen the neighborhoods and communities we call home.

Despite these essential contributions, we face the reality that workers’ rights are under attack.

Today and every day, UFCW stands in solidarity with our members, union siblings, and labor allies as we fight to amplify workers’ voices, expand our collective power, and preserve the working class. We urge our elected leaders to do the same.

Last night workers from Rise Dispensaries in Branford and Orange voted unanimously to accept their new 3 year contract which includes:

-significant wage increases
-increased PTO accrual
-increased holiday pay
-GUARANTEED hours
-2 week scheduling & so much more!

Contract Win!

The workers at Still River Wellness in Torrington secured a two- year contract with an increase of six paid days off, significant wage increases, an increase in the employee discount, and access to union health insurance.

“I have always liked my job at Still River Wellness. Having the security that a union contract can provide, plus having the backing of tens of thousands of other unionized cannabis workers who are members of the UFCW’s Cannabis Workers Rising just ensures that I can build a career at Still River that will be here long into the future.”, said Ashley Corrie, a member of the union’s bargaining committee.

Congratulations to the newest members of UFCW Local 1445, cannabis workers at Green Thumb Industries (GTI)/RISE Dispensary in Dracut MA

These workers voted overwhelmingly in favor of forming a union and joining UFCW Local 1445 amidst low wages, an archaic attendance policy, and serious safety concerns. UFCW IS the cannabis union!
