🇺🇸 Message from the National Commandant 🇺🇸

To all members of the Marine Corps League and our extended military family, let us remember our fallen heroes with respect, gratitude, and unwavering pride. Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it is a sacred reminder of the cost of freedom and the courage of those who answered the call without hesitation.

To the families who carry the weight of loss every day, we extend our deepest condolences, prayers, and appreciation. Your loved ones will never be forgotten.

Semper Fidelis,
National Commandant

Today, we recognize the strength of the mothers who raised our courageous warriors, as well as the mothers who wear the Marine uniform themselves.

Wishing a very Happy Mother's Day to every mother of a Marine and all moms in uniform, past and present!

Our local chapter, Four Corners Blue Star Mothers, are a fine group of women who strive to support our veterans but each other while their children are currently serving and/or deployed. All while serving other families, we sincerely appreciate them for their support throughout the years!

Today is Blue Star Mother’s Day! Our children honored us with this title, one we cherish and are proud to wear. ❤️🇺🇸💙

Washington, DC - The U.S. Senate passed a bipartisan resolution led by US Senator Gary Peters (MI) and US Senator Joni Ernst (IA) designating February 1st, 2023, as Blue Star Mother's Day. This day of recognition honors the sacrifices and contributions made by the mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, adoptive mothers and foster mothers of our nation's servicemembers - and commemorates the 81st anniversary of the Blue Star Mothers gathering in Flint Michigan.

For our new members, in 1942, the Flint News Advertiser ran an ad that asked mothers of servicemen to share their stories and experiences. The response they received was overwhelming and led hundreds of mothers to gather days later on February 1st to form a permanent organization to support servicemen and their families, now called the Blue Star Mothers of America. Blue Star Mothers was officially chartered by Congress in 1960 under President Dwight Eisenhower and the 66th Congress.

2026 Wreaths Across America theme: Remember Me.

We are happy to announce the official 2026 Wreaths Across America theme: Remember Me.

The theme comes as the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the United States, a milestone WAA says calls for renewed focus on the individual lives behind America’s military service. “While we often honor service members collectively, each one has a name, a family and a story,” says Karen Worcester, executive director, WAA. “Their sacrifices are deeply personal, and their stories shape the freedoms we enjoy today.”

Share the story of someone who served and time may have forgotten, so we can learn their story and share it with future generations:
