Johnny Carrier is running against Mike Demicco for State Representative for the 21st District- representing Farmington and Unionville. Johnny Carrier does not care about Farmington. All of us who worked to stop his development company from acquiring special permits to encroach on the wetlands to build 25 homes on Morea Road know Johnny Carrier does not care about Farmington.

Mike Demicco, as our State Representative, has worked tirelessly to build bipartisan relationships at the Capitol. He has been responsive to the needs of all Farmington and Unionville residents, businesses and schools, governing with transparency and listening to our concerns. He has worked on legislation to improve our quality of life and public safety. Promoting renewable energy and protecting our environment are important issues to Mike in order to combat climate change. You may recall the petition the Save Morea Road group circulated to stop Carrier’s development. Mike not only signed that petition, he gave us a donation and attended our fundraising event. Now Mike Demicco needs our help to ensure his reelection as our State Representative.

The property on Morea Road was sold on January 4, 2024. Seems Carrier waited until he was no longer a Farmington Town Council member to close on the property. Sadly this development will move forward.
Even more sad is that our elected officials are not listening to the wishes of the people who elected them. Three nights of public hearings, two well-respected civil engineers and an environmental engineer, two environmental agencies, more than 40 letters, 400 signatures on a petition from Farmington and Bristol residents, and a Farmington developer calling for fairness and equity (not giving special treatment to Carrier) had no effect on our elected officials. This project with a special permit and encroachment on the wetlands is moving forward.

Next Tuesday here in town we are going to be electing some people for town wide offices. Come Friday or so I think it important to ask those already in office, and those who are about to take office a couple questions...beginning with this one:

If they are allowed to ignore the rules, they themselves write we do we have to follow the rules they don't. I think clarification would be helpful for the citizens here just so we are all on the same page of which town charter rules to follow, and which ones to ignore.

Frankly I think it would make a great public service announcement and would go a long way in helping us explain to our children town government protocol.

My personal editorial will go up Friday pretty much an open letter to the folks in Charmington here with basically only one question looking for advice, what to say to my children, my grandchild, about Ethics, do they matter here when the town won't even follow the rules that the town wrote.

Oh...forgot...I'm going to provide very specific examples of rules not followed by the people who make those rules.

There ya go,
