rooted Missouri Regionl Director, Michelle Dinnius, attended today’s meeting and brought two rootEd Alliance partners from Texas with her. Our new friends from Texas traveled ten hours for the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the groundbreaking work that happens when industry and education collaborate.

Proposition K.I.D.S. School Improvement Series: Restroom Remodel

You might not always notice it, but these upgrades matter!
✔️ Modernized restrooms with paint, epoxy flooring, and new stall dividers
✔️ Enclosed showers added to the boys locker room
✔️ Teacher workroom remodeled for public restroom access
✔️ Plumbing replaced from the 1950s

South Iron High School is excited to share that we have received 30 scientific calculators and 30 graphing calculators thanks to the generosity of US Tool and our partnership with Industry & Education.

This opportunity was supported through communication with Industry & Education, including coordination by Mrs. Gayle, helping connect our school with these valuable resources.

These new calculators will support student learning in math classrooms and help students build skills for future success. We are grateful for this partnership and the continued support of our students and school.

Congratulations to CHS Science teacher Mr. Pallo on receiving a $1000 grant from our local Industry and Education Partnership. He plans to use the money to purchase a VEX V5 Classroom starter kit of our robotics and computer science classes. The kit will help students better understand mechanical advantage, simple machines, and computer programming.

Our area career technical centers offer opportunities for students from all over our region to learn technical skills or earn certificates while still in high school.

It is partnerships like these that are helping produce the career ready workforce for the Parkland region and beyond.

🌱🎉 Big News at South Iron! 🎉🌱

We’re excited to announce that South Iron was selected as one of four schools to receive a grant from the Industry & Education Partnership to start a brand-new School Community Garden Project!

Thanks to Mrs. Gayle, who brought this opportunity forward through the Industry & Education Partnership, and to Mrs. Chilton, who applied for and secured the grant.

The garden will be planned and managed by the High School Botany class, giving students hands-on experience growing vegetables, herbs, and native plants while learning real-world agriculture and life skills.

This project will support cross-curricular learning, provide fresh produce for culinary classes, and even allow students to take plants home to begin their own gardens. We can’t wait to watch this project grow!

What an exciting day! Thank you to the many hardworking educators in our area who submitted applications for our second annual Industry & Education Grant competition.

After reviewing so many great entries, we were excited to award four local teachers with $1,000 awards to utilize for STEM related programming their classrooms.

Congratulations to Potosi High School, South Iron High School, Central R-3 High School, and Kingston K-14 High School. We can’t wait to see your projects come to life!
