Welcome to Stephen's Soldiers Foundation! We are a not-for-profit pediatric cancer foundation founded in November 2011 by the Vorenberg family and cousin Josh Grossman in honor of Stephen Vorenberg and his heroic and inspirational story. Stephen was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma back in 2008. His reaction to the diagnose, "I hope I don't lose my hair." Stephen carried this light-hearted spi
rit with him throughout his entire year of chemotherapy. Stephen demonstrated amazing courage during these trying times and has maintained that attitude with his continual support of different cancer related organizations. Currently studying medicine at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown, NY, Stephen has taken this experience and used it to find his calling...Pediatric Oncology. The purpose of this foundation is to:
1. Support cancer research with funds and volunteers.
2. Provide a means to share survivor and non-survivor stories that encourage proactive activities to help with cancer research/cancer organizations as well as cancer support.
3. Provide scholarships for cancer survivor students and/or students entering into cancer/medical research.
4. Provide a mechanism for support groups and information for individuals/families to assist with a plan of action when diagnosed. Since its founding Stephen’s Soldiers Foundation has raiser over $25,000 for pediatric cancer research and established a $40,000 scholarship endowment for pediatric cancer survivors to pursue higher education.
