Thank you to the Farmington/Farmington Hills Education Foundation for awarding the West Oaks Civitan Club a $750 grant. The grant was used to purchase books for the 400 students attending the district's two summer reading programs. Besides choosing a book of their own to keep, each student was given a scratch and sniff popcorn bookmark, a bag of popcorn, and a Pop Open A Good Book bag to carry their treasures home. Our theme, The More You Read...The More You Know, illustrates our focus: literacy!

The West Oaks Civitan Club members met to wrap Christmas gifts for four families in need. Members purchased and donated a variety of items for eight children and included gift cards for their parents to make their holidays happy and bright. Our thanks to the Farmington School Community Liaison for giving us those names along with sizes and items hoped for.
