Another full session for ACI’s Post Installed Concrete Anchor Installation Inspector (PICAII) certification program.🌟 Last week, ACI’s Mid-Atlantic Resource Center in Columbia, MD hosted 23 Engineers from Kiewit for a custom 2-day program. Thanks to Dennis Murphy (District Quality Manger, Kiewit Infrastructures) for utilizing the Resource Center in helping inspectors and project engineers to understand the importance of this ACI CODE 318-25 required certification.

ACI’s certification department hosted another successful orientation session for our sponsoring groups last week for the ACI Flatwork Finisher performance examination.🎉 The session was hosted at Texas A&M Concrete in Austin, TX by David Buzzelli (ACI 640 Committee Chair). We were honored to also have long time 640 committee member Steve Lloyd, from Lloyd Concrete, onsite as co-examiner to assist us with this training and orientation program.

Overall we had 10 sponsoring group representatives in attendance who were able to take this program back to their local concrete communities.🌟 This was the 3rd orientation session for this program in the last 7 months. We now have 27 Sponsoring Groups approved to offer this program!

Shout out to to the staff at Texas A&M Concrete-Austin for all their help and hospitality, this was a top notch group! Also to Texas Materials for their donation of the concrete for this session.

Our last one will be hosted at the ACI Chicago/Midwest Resource Center later this year.📅

The ACI UAE Chapter will be hosting a Special Certification Session for Women Engineers to obtain their Concrete Field Testing Technician—Grade I certification from ACI.🌟 This evet includes the review and exam session.

ACI President Scott Anderson along with the ACI Certification team (Mike Morrison, John Nehasil, & Mark Campo) attended the ICT Annual Convention 2026: The Pursuit of Net Zero Concrete in Bath, England last week.🌟 During this event, we held our ACI C602-GB Committee meeting – regarding the EN Standards Concrete Field Technician and Concrete Strength Testing Technician programs. Great attendance and our committee membership is growing! Special thanks to Gareth David for his commitment and leadership with these programs over the last 8 years.👏

ACI's Mike Morrison (thanks to Beth Britt & the ACI Arizona Chapter) was recently able to present on ACI’s Flatwork Finisher Program with a focus on the hands-on practical exam roll-out that ACI is leading. We had great attendance and interest by the local concrete community as the Arizona Chapter gears up to offer this program. They will host their first session on July 24th.
