Pack 179 had a great overnight experience at the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse this weekend.

The Scouts learned about the lighthouse’s history, climbed the tower for a beautiful view of Port Huron, and even made “fog in a jar” during a hands-on science activity. It was definitely a packed house, but the Scouts rolled with it and had a blast!

Thanks to all the families who came out and helped make it happen. Experiences like this are what Scouting is all about.

Huge shout out to all the families who came out today to enjoy a beautiful, sunny day of sledding, s’mores, and hot chocolate and to support our toilet paper donation drive for CARES!!

It really couldn’t have been better weather for flying down the hill, hanging around the coals, and spending time together. On top of that, everyone's generosity helped make a real impact for local people in need.

Today Pack 179 had the privilege of visiting Wellbridge of Novi, and our Scouts truly lived out the Scout Law. 💙

About 25 Scouts spent part of their Saturday afternoon being helpful, courteous, and friendly…baking and cooking together, sharing stories and conversation with residents, and bringing lots of smiles (including a memorable Whitney Houston Challenge!). The connections made across generations were a powerful reminder of what Scouting is all about.

Thank you to the residents and staff at Wellbridge for welcoming us so warmly. Our Scouts left with full hearts and an even stronger understanding of service and kindness. ⚜️

🎄 A HUGE Holiday Shout-Out to Our Amazing Scouts! 🎄

Pack 179 showed up big at the Farmington and Farmington Hills Holiday Parade last night, and we could not be more proud of these Scouts.

Bundled up, smiling, waving to the crowd, and walking with confidence, our Scouts brought so much joy and energy to the parade. Watching them help with the float, pass out candy canes and represent Scouting with pride was the true highlight of the night.

Their teamwork.
Their enthusiasm.
Their kindness.
Their holiday spirit.

This is what Scouting is all about, growing strong kids, building community, and creating moments they will remember forever.

Thank you to all the families who came out to support them and to everyone who cheered along the route. Our Scouts felt the love.

From all of us at Pack 179, we wish you a warm, bright, and joyful holiday season.
These kids are shining examples of what this season is truly about.

Cubs had a great time camping in yurts at the D-BAR-A ranch last weekend! Despite having to deal with a balmy 27 degrees Friday night, Saturday was beautiful day. The Scouts spent their day exploring the woods , hiking and fishing.

We had an amazing adventure at D-A this weekend, making great memories in the Jack Lord cabin! ❄️ With 20 brave Scouts and 19 fearless parents, we took on the arctic blast and embraced the great outdoors—while using the cabin for warming up inside when needed!

The weekend was packed with BB gun shooting, hiking, horseback riding, geocaching, board games, and epic rounds of catch, football, and dodgeball. But the highlight? A fiercely competitive game of Capture the Flag that had everyone cheering and running around for almostt 2 hours!!

A huge shoutout to all the parents for their support and a special thanks to Don Hughes for keeping us well-fed with his kitchen magic! This weekend was one for the books! Until next time, adventure awaits!

The pack explored the Michigan DNR Outdoor Adventure Center today and had a great time! Every activity was open, including archery and the outdoor snowshoeing activity! We had a great turnout of just under 60 scouts, parents and siblings.
