The NJCTP Research & Legislative Strategy Team, released the Legislative Technical Report 2025, presenting an evidence-based roadmap to transform behavioral health in New Jersey.

Key findings & recommendations:
27.7% of NJ adults report anxiety or depression
2,816 overdose deaths recorded in 2023
Less than 25% of outpatient facilities accept new patients

Our plan: sustainable funding, 24/7 telepsychiatry, integration of the 988 Crisis Lifeline, and stronger oversight to protect patients.

New Jersey can and must lead the nation.

The New Jersey Coalition of Treatment Providers is proud to announce our Q4 Members Meeting on Tuesday, October 15th at 3 PM and this one is truly special.

We are honored to be joined by Stephanie Streletz, Executive Director of the Division of Certificate of Need & Licensing – Behavioral Health at the N.J. Department of Health.

As one of the leading voices shaping the future of behavioral health in our state, Stephanie Streletz plays a pivotal role in overseeing licensure and regulatory standards that directly impact providers and the communities we serve. Having her with us is an extraordinary opportunity for our members to gain firsthand insight into the new behavioral health licensure application process, which was introduced earlier this year, and to have their most pressing questions addressed by the very person guiding these changes.

This is a can’t-miss event for anyone dedicated to advancing behavioral healthcare in New Jersey. We look forward to seeing our members there for what promises to be an enlightening and impactful discussion.

Monmouth County residents have the opportunity to influence how opioid settlement dollars will be spent. As providers, we know that funding is most effective when it strengthens grassroots mutual aid organizations, supports harm reduction, and fuels research. These areas are proven to save lives and build healthier communities.

Last night, our President, Daniel Regan testified before the Howell Township Council to defend the rights of people in recovery. Proposed legislation targeting Class F sober living homes is not just discriminatory, it’s dangerous.

These homes offer safety, structure, and support to individuals working to rebuild their lives. We cannot allow fear and stigma to shape our laws.

Howell Township is proposing new zoning laws targeting rooming and boarding houses—policies that could threaten the rights of well-regulated recovery residences across New Jersey.

We’ll be at this meeting to protect ethical recovery housing, push back against vague legislation that enables bad actors, and prevent harmful precedents from spreading to other towns.

Daniel Regan will speak on behalf of the recovery community, making it clear that any attempt to restrict recovery residences will be met with strong opposition.

We urge all coalition members to attend, speak out, and stand united for safe, supportive housing.

Date: Tuesday, July 29
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Location: Howell Township Municipal Building

Together, we protect recovery and stop harmful policy before it spreads.

🧠✨ July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.
At the New Jersey Coalition of Treatment Providers, we recognize that equity in mental health isn’t just a goal—it’s a necessity.

“The work we do today creates a more equitable tomorrow.”
Let’s continue breaking down barriers, amplifying diverse voices, and building a system where everyone has access to compassionate, culturally competent care.

🚨 Say NO to Bill 3981 🚨

This is more than a slogan—it's a call to action.

As President of the New Jersey Coalition of Treatment Providers, I’m urging our community of professionals, advocates, and allies to stand with us in defending access to dignified, evidence-based, and compassionate mental health care in our state.

Bill 3981 poses a serious threat to the foundation of community-based treatment services that have transformed thousands of lives in New Jersey. Our coalition—made up of clinicians, community leaders, and behavioral health experts—opposes this legislation not out of emotion, but out of informed expertise and moral responsibility.
