💙 THANK YOU, UNION PARISH! 🌊

A HUGE thank-you to all the volunteers who helped make our Love Our Waterways Clean UP – Lake D’Arbonne Classic a success!

Because groups organized their own cleanups on their own schedules this year, trash was removed all across Union Parish by many different groups and volunteers. We are so grateful for EVERYONE who took the time to help!

Today’s Lake D’Arbonne Classic had 37+ volunteers helping organize, pick up trash, and haul it away to keep it out of our waterways. Volunteers came by boat and by land, removing 88+ bags of trash totaling more than 2,200 pounds! 😲

And that doesn’t even include the toilet, drone, trailer running boards, and all the other strange objects that wouldn’t fit in a trash bag! 🤪😂

🏆 BOAT DIVISION
🥇 1st Place – Brister Family – $950
🥈 2nd Place – Dale Taylor – $650

🏆 LAND DIVISION
🥇 1st Place – David Kahn & Kevin Murphree – $800
🥈 2nd Place – Bo Kahn – $500
🥉 3rd Place – Reagan Robinson – $250
🏅 4th Place – Karen Bradford, Jett & Audin – $50

Gift certificates from RoRo's, Read Lumber and Supply, and Thomas Nursery went to the farthest traveled to pick up trash, strangest object - a drone, and first to register!

👏 WAY TO GO, EVERYONE!

Thank you for giving your time, getting your hands dirty, and helping Keep Union Beautiful! Every bag, every strange piece of trash, and every volunteer makes a difference. 💙🌿

Faithful cleanup volunteers for 10+ years now!! Thank you to the Booth Family. They got two bags from Clear Branch on Deloutre Bayou.

Most common item : b**r cans and bottles.

Weirdest item: a pair of socks and a pair of shoes.

They said it is amazing how much cleaner it is overall than when they first started. Clean-ups do matter!!
