I didn’t plan on starting a nonprofit. But when my dad was diagnosed with ALS, I saw firsthand how much families go through, and how little support there can be, especially for teens. So I decided to do something about it.
Compassion in Action ALS is for the families who feel overwhelmed, unseen, or alone in this. Because I know what that feels like.

Easter looked a little different for us this year. ALS has changed so much in our lives, but it’s also made me realize how much the small moments matter. I’m really grateful that I can continue to celebrate Easter with the rest of my family.

I haven’t posted in a while, my dad‘s birthday and the holidays were hard. After that, I didn’t know how to start again. During my pause, I learned that you can’t schedule grief, and you can’t schedule purpose.

Last June, when I lost my dad to ALS, I promised myself I would do something to help families going through what our family went through.

Since then, with your support, we have raised over $4000 and helped several families with supplies, medical devices, support, a minute to breathe.

ALS does not stop. Even a whole deep breath is sometimes a luxury. That is why this mission means everything to me, and even when it is hard, when I have to take a pause, I am not stopping.
