It's a Sensory World! Our vision is that children with special needs are
purposefully included in the community. Founded in October 2007, It’s a Sensory World! It's a Sensory World!

was created by a parent in search of the perfect program for her own child and a highly dedicated teacher. Both women had a deep desire to make a difference in the lives of children with special needs and their families. For children with developmental disorders like Autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Sensory Processing disorders and other special needs, multiple therapies are rendered one-on-one by a trained professional to overcome specific challenges. However, once kids are discharged from therapy, or for families who are unable to continue therapy due to the expense, it is important they continue maintaining and building upon their skills in a real-life context. Children may also find it difficult to participate in mainstream recreational activities as their language and social skills may not be age-appropriate. is a natural progression from therapy into the world of real-world activities. Our center was created to bridge the gap between therapy and mainstream educational and recreational activities.

Sensory World is 19 today!

And what a 19 years it has been.

When Sensory World opened its doors in 2007, no one could have known exactly what this place would become. Today, our classrooms are fuller than ever, our buses are constantly on the move, and more children, teens, young adults and families are calling Sensory World home than ever before.

But some of our favorite things haven't changed.

We still get ridiculously excited over the wins that might look small to someone else. We still believe every kiddo deserves people who see what they CAN do. And we still think there is something pretty special about a place where you can walk through the doors and know you belong here.

19 years. So many kiddos. So many families. So many people who have loved this place right alongside us.

We wouldn't be Sensory World without all of you.

Happy 19th anniversary to our favorite place. We can't wait to see what year 20 brings!

Headshots, but make them Sensory World. 💙

We decided traditional headshots just weren’t quite us… so we gave our team picture day a little Sensory World twist.

A few props, a whole lot of personality, and some of our very favorite people. We may be biased, but we think we have the BEST crew around.

And yes, apparently a Candy Land board, a Dr Pepper, a goose, and a Chinchilla are all perfectly acceptable professional accessories around here!

We wouldn’t have it any other way.

WE ARE ALL SMILES AND GRATITUDE THIS MORNING!!!!

As of this morning, $70,792 has been raised for Sensory World!!!

Every single dollar is in support of the AMAZING children, teens, and young adults we are so lucky to serve.

Yesterday, you donated. You shared our posts. You texted friends. You told people about ISW. You cheered us on. And even after Giving Day officially ended, the support kept coming.

We mean it when we say we have the BEST ISW community. We are completely overwhelmed by the number of people who chose to say YES to Sensory World this year.

We still have a little more of this journey ahead of us, and we’ll keep chipping away at our goal as additional gifts, matches, checks, and those perfectly “just on time” donations continue to come in.

But this morning, we are simply SO DANG GRATEFUL.

As North Texas Giving Day starts to wind down, we are feeling one thing more than anything else: GRATEFUL. So incredibly grateful.

To this amazing community in North Texas and beyond, thank you. Thank you to every person who donated, shared our posts, sent our link to a friend, told someone about Sensory World, cheered us on, or simply helped us feel a little extra loved today.

We know we still have a journey ahead as we continue working toward our goal, and we’re going to keep chipping away at it. But tonight, we just want to appreciate what happened today.

So many different people said YES to Sensory World. Some have been with us for years. Some joined us for the very first time today. And every single one became part of this World of Possibility.

We are in awe of this community every day, and we feel unbelievably lucky to have you walking alongside us.

162 DONORS AND COUNTING!!!

Tonight, our staff met up at The Londoner to celebrate everything that has already happened today, and there is SO much to be grateful for.

162 people have chosen to make a gift to Sensory World today. And even more of you have shared our posts, sent our link to friends and family, talked about ISW, and helped introduce new people to our World of Possibility.

We have felt the love from our community ALL DAY, and we are truly overflowing with gratitude.

We knew when we set a $90,000 goal that it was BIG. But we set it because the need is big, too. With more students, more classrooms, and more individuals being served, we knew this year called for an ambitious goal.

And we’re not discouraged by having more ground to cover. We’re going to keep chipping away at it. Tonight, tomorrow, and as additional Giving Day gifts continue to come in.

For now, we’re celebrating 162 people who said yes to Sensory World today and every single person who helped us reach beyond our own walls.

Our Destination Costume Parade was one of the highlights of Giving Day!!!

Our students and staff dressed up to represent their classroom destinations across our World of Possibility, and we had SO much fun seeing everyone’s creativity and celebrating our explorers!

We have loved filling today with fun Giving Day activities for our kids, but the day is NOT over yet!

We still have a lot of ground to cover toward our $90,000 goal, and we REALLY need our ISW community to rally with us this afternoon and evening. We kicked off North Texas Giving Day this morning with Coffee at Basecamp!

We invited our families to come in, grab some coffee, and start the day with a Giving Day activity alongside their explorers before all of today’s adventures began.

And we HAD to share this little moment from the Land of Belonging! Our princesses were ready bright and early to help greet friends as they arrived this morning, and when one of our friends showed up dressed as a wizard, we obviously had to capture this perfect little trio!

We have so much fun planned for our explorers today as we celebrate A World of Possibility, and this was a pretty great way to start.
