Farmer City Public Library

Farmer City Public Library Anyone living within Farmer City city limits can obtain a library card. The library has 2 patron computers that are available for public use.

The Farmer City Public Library is a facility that offers patrons the chance to check out books, use computers, engage in play groups, join in with story time activities, and it also serves as a meeting place for many local groups. In order to get your card, please bring a piece of mail addressed to you and a photo ID confirming your identity. If you live in an area in the Blue Ridge School Distric

t that does not offer a library or the library is too far from you, a family library pass can be bought for $35 from the librarian. It is wise to phone ahead and reserve your slot on the computer. This is not a necessary tactic, but does ensure that you will have time on the computer. A copy machine and fax machine area also available to patrons for a small fee.

Lately with rising costs we have had the same question a lot from our patrons. How can we help? The Farmer City Public Library does our very best to provide the community with as much programming, books and services as possible with a very limited budget, however with rising cost some things have become unobtainable. So, to answer the question of "how can we help" the board and director have put together an Amazon Wishlist of supplies that would be helpful in allowing us to maintain providing community support and services. If anyone feels inclined to donate anything on said list to the library, it would be greatly appreciated.
Here is the link to our Wishlist:

EDIT: All book shelves have been claimed!
Free disassembled bookshelves! The second picture is what they look like when assembled. There are 6 total. First come first serve. Some will likely will need refurbishing as they have been used in the library for many years. First come first serve. No reservations.

Today as you come into the library you may notice some piles of books about as well as a stack of bookshelf parts. We apologize about the mess! We are working through it as quickly as possible. Over the weekend the director and her family came in and volunteered some time to switch out some old shelves with the much newer ones from the book sale area. We ask for some patience as the director finishes up on this project throughout the week!
