The Marv Bossart Parkinson's Foundation

The Marv Bossart Parkinson's Foundation This foundation was established by the Marv Bossart family to support local programs for people living with Parkinson's disease and their caregivers.

The Marv Bossart Foundation for Parkinson's Support is a Project of Dakota Medical Foundation. Marv Bossart anchored the evening news at WDAY TV in Fargo, ND for 42 years and became the most familiar voice in the history of the Red River Valley broadcast region. He also taught a generation of highly successful news reporters as a writing and introductory journalism instructor at Minnesota State Un

iversity Moorhead for 37 years. Bossart was diagnosed a year after retirement with Parkinson's disease and died of the disease in April of 2013. This foundation was established shortly before Marv lost his battle with Parkinson's disease by his wife Betty and four daughters, Sherry, Laurie, Kathy and Elizabeth. This foundation was created to support local programs in the Fargo-Moorhead and surrounding areas for people living with Parkinson's disease & their caregivers.

We are less than 5 hours away from the most generous day of the year! ❤️

At the Marv Bossart Parkinson's Foundation, we are grateful for your giving heart! Through each stage of Marv's Parkinson's disease, his wife, Betty, was his caregiver. This year, we are honoring BOTH Marv & Betty because she was an integral part of helping him each day in his battle with this disease. We honor all of those living with Parkinson's and all of their caregivers. EVERY donation helps us continue our mission - helping individuals and families live fuller, more supported lives as they navigate Parkinson's disease. Click below to donate!

One day and counting to Giving Hearts Day! Charities have a story of who they are, who they serve, and why. Our story is about a man named Marv. Shortly after retiring from 42 years on the air at WDAY TV, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He passed away from the effects of the disease and our family wanted to honor his memory and legacy by helping others who have PD live the best life possible. His story is below.
