When Cricket needed care fast, we said “come on in!” 💙 Dr. Stegman cleaned her wounds, got her on meds, and used laser therapy to speed her healing. Cricket is now well on her way to a full recovery.

In her mom’s words: “I am SO happy and thankful to have PAAWS and that my sweet girl is completely on the mend.”

Thank you for trusting us with your sweet girl! 🐾

Emma said she would “give up her life” for this Meadow Park diva and honestly... same. 🐾

This is why we do what we do. We love meeting the pets that make the Fargo-Moorhead community feel like family. Thank you to everyone who came out to our pet food pop-up at Meadow Park!

When your spreadsheet wizard (shoutout to Amy Kracht!) double-checks the numbers and finds even MORE reason to celebrate! 🎉🐾

Yesterday we fell a little short on our stats, so here’s our updated 2026 impact to date:
🐱 3,788 Cats Spayed & Neutered
🐶 1,085 Dogs Spayed & Neutered
❤️ 4,873 Pets & Families Served!

We are so proud of our incredible clinic team for working tirelessly to make this kind of impact possible. Proof that good exists every single day right here in our community! 💙

Meet the newest smiling face at our front desk! 🐾

If you've called or stopped by recently, you might have noticed some extra help keeping things running smoothly. Everyone, meet Charles!

With clinic days staying busy, Charles Sterling has jumped right in alongside Courtney to help answer calls, greet clients, and keep our check-in process quick and friendly. We are SO grateful to have him on the team.

Next time you stop in or call the clinic, be sure to give Charles a warm welcome to the Minn-Kota PAAWS family! 💛

Huge shoutout to Emma for braving the Fargo mosquitoes at our Countryside Trailer Court popup yesterday evening! 🦟🐾 (The bug spray stains on her shirt are an official badge of honor at this point).

Turnout was smaller than expected, but community outreach is never wasted. Every single bag of food handed out and every conversation had means another pet stays healthy, fed, and at home with the family who loves them. That is always a win in our book.

Stay tuned for our next food pantry popup, and have a wonderful weekend with your furry friends!

FOOD PANTRY UPDATE: Construction of our addition and garage is moving right along, but we are not in a position to re-open our food pantry at this time. We were hoping to be able to get something together by October, but the current state of our project leaves us with very little space to operate. Our food pantry will be closed until further notice, we will let everyone know when we can open again.

We totally understand that you all view our pantry as a valuable resource and are feeling the pinch because we are not open. Please trust that we will be open just as soon as we can and can't wait to get back to serving you and your pets with our free Pet Food Pantry.

UPDATE: Thank you all for showing me love ❤. You all are the reason I come here everyday and make this job the most fun. I appreciate all of you (and your pets!). Thank you to the wonderful team I get to spend the majority of my week with, I love you all the most. Special thanks to our Board who supported me obtaining my certification and fully believes in investing in our people. You guys are the best! Amy Kracht, CAWA 🤣

We’re pretty excited to share that our Executive Director, Amy Kracht, has earned her CAWA — Certified Animal Welfare Administrator — credential through The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement !

CAWA is the only professional leadership credential specifically for animal welfare, and only several hundred people worldwide currently hold the designation. Before even sitting for the exam, candidates must meet experience requirements in animal welfare leadership and management.

And then there’s the exam.

It covers leadership, human resources, finance, fundraising, marketing, administration, animal care, and all of the other things Amy has largely learned by doing them in real life over the years.
And because we thought this was pretty cool — CAWA is a pretty rare credential in our part of the country. According to AAWA’s current directory, there’s just one CAWA listed in North Dakota and one in Minnesota. Amy lives in Minnesota and works in North Dakota, so we’re claiming her for both. 😂

We’re proud of this one, not just because Amy gets some fancy new letters after her name, but because PAAWS has grown a LOT. What began as a spay/neuter organization has grown to include wellness care, dental services, a pet food pantry, community partnerships, and now urgent veterinary care.

As PAAWS grows, it’s important that the people working here continue growing, too. Earning the CAWA credential is one more way we’re making sure our organization continues to learn, improve, and follow best practices while staying focused on what matters most — helping pets and the people who love them.

So please join us in congratulating our very own:

🎉 Amy Kracht, CAWA 🎉

She will be adding those letters to absolutely everything from this point forward. We assume that’s how certifications work.
