Thanks to Jiwon Kim and the team at the North Dakota Trade Office for organizing and coordinating a visit with a delegation of UAS companies from the Republic of Korea this week.

The visit, led by – Mr. Donghyun Yoo with KRAUV (Korea Research Association for Unmanned Vehicles), continues the relationship formed in 2024 by state partners (including North Dakota Dept. of Commerce and North Dakota Trade Office) after signing an MOU on a trade mission to Seoul between the state of North Dakota and KRAUV to establish a partnership and promote collaboration in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) research and development.

The five companies traveling with KRAUV are strongly considering establishing facilities or offices in North Dakota as part of this visit and we appreciate the opportunity to share information on expansion opportunities in the Metro.

Good decisions start with good data — and great data gets even better with the right people around the table. 📊

We're excited to share that GFMEDC has launched the FM Data & Analytics Working Group — a cross-sector advisory group bringing together city governments, state agencies, higher education, and regional partners to sharpen how we collect, analyze, and use data to drive economic growth in the FM region.

With 40,000+ job postings tracked annually and a goal of growing our labor force from 152,000 to 164,000 by 2029, the stakes are high — and so is the energy in the room.
As one member put it after our first meeting:

Our team had a great time touring Rapat Corporation in Hawley, which manufactures conveyor belt systems around the country for industries like mining, energy, agriculture and other industrial facilities. Thanks to all the partners who joined us for the launch of our Business Development focused working group.

We're grateful to grab the region's best talent to brainstorm ways to strengthen the region's business development efforts. Leveraging public, private and higher education partners, this first meeting laid the groundwork. We talked about how the GFMEDC takes a data-driven approach to support the attraction, expansion and retention of primary-sector companies which includes supporting the region's robust entrepreneurial ecosystem.

We're excited to kick this off and work as a community to support a strong and vibrant economy! This is the first of several we'll be holding throughout the year!

Thank you to the investors who joined us in person and online this morning for a quick GFMEDC update during our Cup of EDC News event!

Our quarterly update to investors included information on the business development projects we're working on and our certified ready site program (https://bit.ly/4dx1vQV) - we're adding a new site in Kindred!

We also answered a few questions about our work and the ways we make data-driven decisions to support the regional economy. Overall, it was a great discussion and a fun way to keep our investors informed on the work we're doing.
