Look at this…

Last night we had the gift of having so many dancers in a room together… many of whom don’t even know each other yet.

“Dance can become about cliques… But in this moment: you can look around and see a new face. That’s not always something we get in dance! Not really. These are new friends before you, waiting to happen. This is a gift …”

And what a gift it was.

The collective silence in the room at the end of this combination (!!) held a sort of vibrational weight to it that’s hard to explain unless you’ve danced alongside others and held the spiritual silence beyond when the hum of the world normally permits.

Stay to the end to enjoy for yourself.

Classes of all noise levels will be back in July and into August, but if you end up wanting more one day: We don’t want you to have to choose between this and the other things in your life, when possible.

The outside dance world is not being furthered fast enough in terms of its harm towards bodies and minds regarding size stigma …. And it’s time for us to build a soapbox again. It’s time for change.

Give a chance for dialogue first please…. Because what’s the worst that can happen? You have a great conversation. You make a connection. You get well wishes and more support through a varied, beautiful future.

In dance, we tell ourselves, “If I can’t be perfect, I’m nothing.”

Together, we are looking to Fall and hoping to walk the walk, inclusively… Provide for multiple types of personalities and needs, more… and keep us living and dancing, safely.

Hoping there WILL be better days.

Are you coming to our Gratitude Class THIS Sunday?

This is just a one-off, drop in to shake off the rust (June 2nd, 630 to 8 at )

Modifications available for all.

Signed support 🤟🏼 available for any requesting.

A pop up “We Are Alive!” class to see friendly faces, meet new friends, and try to have a full-feels dance experience.

This Summer we will have “drop-in choreography master classes” open to anyone and everyone eventually - specifics to come.

We know June is crazy for everyone, however, so this is a brief requiem to dance in our bodies - where they are now and as they are now - before focusing on early summer for a moment.

But don’t give up hope!… because each little “pop up” is a reminder that we are coming back (and even just dropping in for classes in of itself is something many of us miss).

For now?

This Sunday is FREE!!!!!

We don’t want to repeat or compete or deplete…

We want to bring MORE to the lives of our storytellers (from exposure to ASL, to dancing on stage with the pros, to being in shows, TV series, and magazines with ‘worlds’ and characters built completely anew, on and around ‘you’)…

We want to help our storytellers become more as more than just dancers and actors… but also as people.

Those gifts can’t be quantified.

Those experiences and lessons will be remembered as adults, no matter the career one day. And for our adults, the best friendships that glitter through many of our lives right now were flowered, with time and luck, by continuing to show the world that performance shouldn’t have to stop at 18, or when injured or burnt out.

Our new model takes the burn out OUT of all we want to do as dancers and professionals and people….

But this isn’t about what or whom CDT could be (those posts will come).

This is just about thankfulness.

We are doing a one-time DROP IN REQUIEM CLASS this weekend in honor of ourselves….

Missing each other…

And missing the person who believed in Company more than maybe any of us.

It’s a Gratitude Class 🖤

Please show up imperfectly to dance with an imperfect person in an imperfect body because time simply can’t move further forward without music and movement in our lives.

CLASS: June 2nd from 630 to 8 and it’s completely FREE

Our classes will be at Creative Movement (more on that excitement soon)

Though this was something in the works for a while with CM : Picking a place where our dancers can make positive, safe memories was paramount.

For now, this is just about thankfulness and dancing and existing in our bodies for a combo that reminds us how lucky we are to be in those bodies.

In case you missed the memo, Company 360 will still have our NINE cinematic dance film…

But we are releasing it to our community directly (it’s not part of a broader nonprofit release as traditionally so, and thus has been intentionally delayed)… So keep an eye out.

The direct FREE release is a direct thank you to those who’ve supported Company.

We will gift you with information on how to directly access NINE from anywhere in the world soon, once our dancers are enjoying their home premieres.

Our past dance films (Darkening, Dreamt, Away and Across) weren’t possible without YOU, our audience, and of course our artists themselves living inside the world they’ve built.

Even if our future is new… our ethos, stories and message shall remain the same.

NINE is a gift… Gratitude for the wait 🖤

We’ve been told that different shows find different people, and each one has served a purpose …

But seeing our teens and young pros (recent growns) celebrating the end of a season and the hope of time together soon, felt as if it were yesterday they all began.

Eventually, we will want to celebrate everything that Company achieved in a landscape [= broader dance world] that needed it and more. But for now, if you’re hurting, or missing, or relieved for respite, or all of the above, remember this:

Being part of traditions, joy, and role modeling larger than yourself is what makes this very short life feel so much less short.

This? This matters. Even when we can’t see it through the fog of stress, and bobby pins and … well, literal stage fog.

Although a lot will change upon our evolution ahead, the call to dance (or watch and savor) will hopefully come around sooner than we think.

For now, remember that somewhere, someone is watching one of our cinematic dance films.

Someone is in college because they found dance when they thought they, “Weren’t a fit for dance.”

Someone is best friends forever with a best friend forever, or emailed us recently wanting to audition because they’re hoping to find that future where dance isn’t cut throat and cruel, or … on and on.

No matter how much every person and place on earth needs to grow… sometimes growth also looks like embracing your roots. 🌳

We will ours and so much more, but here’s a perfect reminder of how it feels to dance together (OR even how it feels to watch dancers who love dancing together, and not just so they can dance more no matter when or where or with whom).

Company 360 may be on our first seasonal pause since the pandemic, but we are using this time to restructure, rebuild, rethink (in the best way) without leaving our many future stories or the people who made them so worthwhile behind.

But if you need a reminder that Company is still a candle with a light burning… Here is your reminder of all we accomplished and all that’s to come.

He is oh so deserving of this beautiful moment, and so are all of you.

Dear Company 360 long time audience members, supporters, and believers:

It is with a very heavy heart that we are announcing we are taking this season (show) off due to the health of our Artistic Director.

We believe in Company 360’s mission of story telling, original dance theater productions, and body neutral excellence since our onset in 2017 and our rebrand after 2020.

We have created 11 shows (10 in our canon) and still have equal as many planned.

However, it’s more important that we take a season to regroup and set our eyes to the future, than anything else. Health is wealth, and the health of both those who make Company possible and the mental health of our pros who’ve dedicated so much matters most.

During this time off, we will be rebranding and going back to our roots potentially… hoping to relaunch with the best components in tact as we did post pandemic, learning valuable lessons about our own goals, and clinging to the original ethos and beauty of what made us so unique.

Please wish our dancers love, patience and compassion as they take unexpected show time off, which for many is a tragic loss of safe space and emotive catharsis.

We have paused before and made the world wait for an album drop, so to speak… so have no doubt that the correct road is the healthy road, and we need to proceed at our best.

We will miss you.

Things That You Get Being a Part of Company 360 That You Won’t See In The Fine Print:

It might seem obvious what teen dance theater or storytelling trainees receive by being a part of Company 360 just by looking at our audition forms, but there are so many things far beyond the high quality performance opportunities…

▫️You get to tell stories on stage with your potential heroes (not just relegated to being off stage when the pros are on).

▫️You can find a track whether you’re interested in just dance or prefer to act. (Communication is key but we custom fit roles that fit for young souls all the time.)

▫️You get to be in stories that never existed before. Sometimes originating a role… being in an internationally witnessed dance film… and becoming immortalized in a book forever.

▫️You get to hone your commercial and movie skills by being IN a dance film and on a set…. And then attend a premier dressed to the nines!

▫️You get to have premiers and after parties (did we mention that part?)

▫️You get to have class with all the other teen and youth trainees - slowing down to focus on technique in a simple and encouraging way which … well, there isn’t a dancer or performer or actor on earth who doesn’t need and deserve that.

▫️You get to learn how to overcome fears and insecurities with encouraging choreographers and directors: striving, with you, to makeover how we can feel as both a novice or a highly knowledgeable dancer (or storyteller). There are no big or little fish in the sea- we value humility… and it’s never too late to learn that.

▫️You can determine how much or little you do. Want to aim for more? You denote as much at auditions and we take into account - as seasons evolve - when the time is right for you to do more (be in more of the storytelling).

▫️You (and this one’s important) will be loved for who you are - every gender, orientation, need - no matter the road of hard work and dedication ahead at Company.
