Jinpeng Lin and his grandfather arrived at Shriners Hospital for Children Galveston TX on Jan 7, 2020. They planned to go back home in China on May 13, 2020, but because of the pandemic of COVID-19, all the flights between China and America were canceled or suspended, so they stayed in Galveston until early August.

There were no other kids from China coming for treatment this year.. No plan for any children from China coming in the near future due to the pandemic..

FeiFei was the first patient HandReach brought to the US for prosthetics and rehabilitation. She just recently returned back to Massachusetts for her annual prosthetics appointments, now a lovely young lady. Born to very young, poor, unmarried parents in China, her grandfather placed her on train tracks in the path of an oncoming train. HandReach took her case as soon as we could, having to literally bribe local officials in her province with chickens to get her a passport and travel papers. So many amazing people have connected with HandReach because of FeiFei, and our commitment to her ongoing care through adulthood continues on. Thank you so much, dear HandReach donors!! 🙏💕
