Congratulations to our friends at RICSAR for this wonderful feature in today’s Providence Journal! We certainly hope this spotlight will help raise awareness about RICSAR’s free, 24/7 services to all law enforcement and emergency agencies across Rhode Island.

Was this how a Labrador retriever named Toby, saved from a hoarding situation, would find a new home and a new purpose?

Today is day 17 in the search for Adam Wacholder of Falmouth, MA. Here are photos of him from 2022, an update on the investigation and a message from his mom.

We are supporting TK1 Investigations and in contact with Adam’s family. His last known location was at his residence at 587 Gifford St. and he does not have his phone or vehicle. His vital epilepsy medication may be running out.

Adam’s family is highly concerned for his safety. They are also asking any Massachusetts media groups to please consider sharing his case to the public. At this stage, the greatest way to assist is getting his name and face out to as many people as possible.

If you have ANY info that can help find , call Falmouth PD at 774-255-4527.

If you are w/ media and would like to get in touch with Adam’s family, please let us know and we’ll be happy to relay details.

Today we wanted to spotlight a special community member, Debbie Rebello, and her beloved daughter Amanda.

Amanda Rebello attended Westport High School and was active with the Diabetes Association (Camp Kyle). In 2013, Amanda went missing for 10 days. She was a diagnosed schizophrenic and completed su***de on her second attempt. Amanda was full of life and touched all those she met with her kindness and good heart.

Amanda’s mother, Debbie, never fails to reshare missing persons posts in memory of her and is a passionate advocate within our community for mental health awareness and missing persons.

We were touched by Amanda’s story and wanted to take a moment to recognize her life and her mother’s efforts.

We encourage our community members to do something kind in Amanda’s memory and send positive words of encouragement to her wonderful mother.

RIP Amanda Rebello

🚨SCAM ALERT: Missing child post 🚨

Hi folks, we were made aware of this fraudulent post, which was shared to several community groups today. An example of the post is below, along with the original poster’s profile.

**Please note this is NOT a legitimate missing minor post and the original post should NOT be shared.**

Here are some tips to help spot a fake post and what you can do to help.

🟦 How to tell if a missing child/pet post is fake:

1. The poster turns off comments in the group. This is done so community members cannot comment to say the post is fraudulent. The poster relies on blind shares, then later updates their post to sell a product or commit financial fraud.

2. The poster has a new profile. This “Marlene Collins” profile was created today. You will also usually notice the profile is for some sort of business. Marlene’s profile is set up as a health/beauty business.

3. The poster’s shared group photo does not match their profile photo. In this instance, the minor children shown in the missing post are completely different from those on their profile.

🟦 What you can do to help:

1. Click the 3 dots at the top right corner of the original post and select the option to report it to group admins.

2. Go to the poster’s profile and click the 3 dots next to “message,” then select “Find support or report.” Report the profile as fraud.

We have blurred the children’s faces as they are still someone’s kids.

Please ALWAYS share missing minor posts made by verified law enforcement pages.

As a reminder, Unsolved RI will only shared confirmed missing minor profiles and has committed to removing personal details about minors within 24-48 hours after they are located. We will always use the “everyone” tag to send alerts to community members about missing minors or urgent/endangered missing adults.

Thank you!
