We could use some help.
For the past year and a half, we have been using donated space in one of the local industrial parks.
It has been a blessing to our mission, allowing us to store our equipment and supplies and to have delivery teams meet up and load up before heading out.
We need to find new space as our donated lease is wrapping up.
We are asking our community if anyone has open space they are willing to donate or rent at a discount. Reducing this cost has and will allow us to put more money directly to work building and delivering beds.
Below is a write up of what we are seeking. Any help or leads are appreciated.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace (Harford County) – Storage Space Needed
Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is seeking donated or low-cost storage and workspace to support our mission of building and delivering beds to children in need throughout Harford County.
Space Requirements
• Preferred size: Approximately 1,000–1,500 square feet
• Minimum workable size: About 900 square feet
• Ideal layout: Warehouse or light industrial space with an open storage area and a separate finished room (or office) that can be used for sorting and storing bedding.
What We Store
The space would house:
• Lumber and bed components
• Mattresses
• Bedding, pillows and linens
• Tools and equipment
• Delivery supplies and miscellaneous inventory
Access
• Ground-level access is essential, preferably with an overhead garage door for loading and unloading.
• Flexible access is needed, as volunteers often prepare deliveries during evenings and weekends.
• Secure space with key access for designated volunteers.
Location
A location in the central Harford County/Fallston–Forest Hill area is preferred, providing convenient access for volunteers while remaining close to the communities we serve.
Other Considerations
• Clean, dry and secure.
• Electricity is preferred but not required.
• We are open to warehouse space, barns, garages, unused commercial or industrial space, church-owned buildings, or similar facilities.
Donated or discounted space would directly reduce our operating costs and allow more of our fundraising dollars to go toward building beds for local children.
