HOW TO BECOME A BAR TALKS STORYTELLER?

Being invited to talk about your story, having a conversation with me, or expressing interest does not automatically mean you are confirmed for a show.

To be officially considered as a storyteller, you must complete the story-pitch process.

🔥Step 1: Watch for the official Storyteller Call
Storyteller Calls are posted on social media before each show. If you miss the first round of the call, you may miss the opportunity to be considered for that particular event.

🔥Step 2: Pitch your story
You may pitch your story directly to me during the open call period, or submit your pitch by email at [email protected].

Your pitch should briefly explain:
what your story is about
why you want to tell it
how it connects to the theme of the show

🔥Step 3: Wait for official confirmation
A conversation, invitation to pitch, or verbal interest is not a booking.

You are only officially part of the show once you receive a follow-up confirmation from me by email.

Several potential storytellers may be considered before the final lineup is selected.

🔥Step 4: Join the storyteller process
Once selected, you will be added to the storyteller group and we will work together for approximately 4–6 weeks leading up to the event.

Storytellers should expect approximately three touchpoints:
an initial story review/pitch
a workshop session to refine and strengthen the story
a final run-through before the show

🔥The goal is not to change your story. The goal is to help you shape it for the stage while keeping your voice, your truth, and your personality intact.

Most importantly:

🔥If you are interested in telling a story, please communicate your intent and submit your pitch during the official call period.

Interest starts the conversation.
Submission starts the process.
Confirmation books the stage.
