🌱 Educate Fairfax Grant Highlight 🌱

Learning grows in the most meaningful ways when students can get their hands in the soil.

At Mantua Elementary School, second grade students are exploring the world of sustainable gardening through the Grow and Learn program. With support from an Educate Fairfax Grant, 120 students are discovering where food comes from, learning environmentally responsible practices, and building a deeper connection to the world around them.

Led by Fairfax County Public Schools educator Michele Sullivan, this hands-on experience is helping young learners understand the importance of caring for our environment while nurturing curiosity and responsibility.

🙌 High Five, Fairfax!

Thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered their time to help pack snack bags for Fairfax County Public Schools students ahead of Spring Break.

Because of your generosity and willingness to show up for our students, we didn’t just meet our goal — we packed 600 snack packs, far exceeding our original goal of 400!

Each bag represents a student who will head into the break with one less worry and the support of a community that cares.

We are so grateful for the volunteers, donors, and partners who made this possible.

Together, we are helping ensure FCPS students have what they need to focus on learning and growing.

Educate Fairfax is excited to host our D**k & Donate for Education Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, April 18 at Down the Line Sports Center Annandale.

Whether you are brand new to pickleball or a seasoned competitor, this event is all about community, connection, and supporting Fairfax County Public Schools.

Tomorrow evening, our community is coming together to help Fairfax County Public Schools students head into Spring Break with the snacks they need—and there’s still time to join us.

On March 12 from 5–7 PM at the FCPS Gatehouse (8115 Gatehouse Road, Falls Church, VA 22042), we’ll be packing 400 snack packs for students across Fairfax County.

A couple of hours can make a meaningful difference for families in our schools.

Students can earn volunteer hours for helping out!

Some of the most important journeys in a young person’s life begin quietly with a book.

A story before bedtime.
A classroom novel that sparks curiosity.
A trip to the library that opens the door to something new.

Educate Fairfax is excited to invite Fairfax County Public Schools students to participate in our Bookmark Art Contest with the theme: Today’s Reader, Tomorrow’s Leader.

Students are encouraged to design a bookmark that shows how reading, learning, and imagination help shape the leaders of tomorrow.

Four winners will be selected from across grade levels, and their designs will be printed and shared in schools and the community.

Each winner will also receive a $25 gift card.

Spring Break is coming up, and we’re working to make sure students have the snacks they need while school is out.

On March 12 from 5–7 PM, Educate Fairfax will be packing 400 snack packs at the Fairfax County Public Schools Gatehouse Administration Center (8115 Gatehouse Road, Falls Church, VA 22042), and we’d love your help!

Bring a friend, lend a hand, and help support students across Fairfax County.

Students can earn volunteer hours for participating!

Spring Break should be a time to relax and recharge—but for some students it can also mean a gap in reliable meals. That’s why Educate Fairfax is hosting a Snack Packing Event on March 12, and we would love your help.

Join us 5–7 PM at the FCPS Gatehouse as we pack 400 snack packs for students to take home for Spring Break.
