AASuccess

AASuccess AASuccess is dedicated to nurturing and advancing life skills among its high school and young professionals to give them the tools to succeed in life.

Who We Are:
AASuccess, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, seeks to help students enhance their individual approaches to academic work, career development, and other challenges in life. Through our Life Skills Academy, AASuccess empowers students to identify and cultivate skills necessary for professional development and civic work. With help from our business support community, AASuccess provides

students with funding, internship opportunities, coaching, and other critical resources. We focus on a personal approach and address a host of issues, including: confidence, self-discipline, stress management, accountability, citizenship, leadership skills, physical and emotional health, and prudent decision-making. Our overall goal at AASuccess is to help students succeed in life. AASuccess is open to all residents of Northern Virginia and the D.C. Metropolitan Area interested in either receiving the benefits or volunteering in any of its two main programs: Life Skills Academy and Arc360 Civic Projects Programs. Our Mission:
Empower young people to achieve their true potential, while cultivating future leaders to spread ethical and humanitarian values in our communities. Our History:
AASuccess was created in 2006 by Dave Nguyen, Irina Nguyen, David Montanari, Sumesh Kaushal, and Malou Gemeniano to promote volunteer activities and host an annual scholarship program. However, the scope of our core programs soon grew to include life skills development, as well as internship and other professional opportunities. Our goal shifted towards enabling students to succeed in all aspects of life and providing lifelong leadership developmental opportunities. In 2012, the Giving Back and Arc360 programs were combined to create the Arc360 Civic Projects. In the same year, AASuccess established a Life Skills Academy and job training center for both high school and college students. AASuccess’ strategies revolve around integrating its students into an intergenerational support community comprised of senior citizens, business owners, career and young working professionals, public officials, non-profit organizations, and those from the educational community.

Some snippets from shArk tAnk Success this past Saturday, where our students had the opportunity to make a project outline solving a problem in our community. After a month of meticulous planning, students pitch their outline to the “sharks”, in which afterward the sharks decide whether to sponsor their project or not.

Hi friends!! Just 1 more day until our 2025 Ebb and Flow Gala. And now that we are so so close to our big event, we want to slow down and share with you our story. Why we do what we do and what it means to us.

At AASuccess, we believe in helping our students reach beyond the horizon and achieve their dreams. Our gala theme, “Ebb and Flow”, celebrates the accomplishments and positive impacts we have made within our organization, students, and community.

And as we draw so close to our gala, we’d like to share some thoughts from our founder, Dave Nguyen.

“AAS started nearly 20 years ago in the U.S. with a very simple idea. Help each person grow. Not just in skills or academics, but in how they live, how they lead, how they carry themselves in difficult moments. That model worked for a lot of young people, especially Vietnamese Americans, many of whom after 20 years are now thriving in their careers. AAS is to build something with the right people. With shared values. With the understanding that this is not about importing solutions. It’s about co-creating a meaningful, long-term journey forward and together.”
