Pimmit Hills Neighbors,

Unfortunately, earlier this month, Washington Gas was successful in obtaining VDOT permits to install the Strip 1 East pipeline (aka the "Pimmit Pipeline") through Pimmit Hills.

A concession we managed to obtain from Washington Gas was this:
- Wash Gas will provide and pay for a HomeServe insurance policy for the sewer laterals for all homes along the streets where the pipeline is installed
- The insurance policy will last 20 years. It will cover up to $15k per incident the first five years; $17.5k years 6-10, $20k years 11-15, and $22.5k years 16-20.
- A sewer lateral repair does not need to be proven to have anything to do with the Strip 1 East pipeline. It is as if you took out the insurance policy yourself. If you have a sewer lateral issue, you call HomeServe, not Wash Gas.

We just received word that they plan on starting work on these streets as early as July 21s:
- Magarity Rd between Tillman Dr and Peabody Dr
- Peabody Dr, both blocks (Magarity to Griffith)

They are going to start going door-to-door tonight to inform residents about the project.

Kimberly Schrimsher (PHCA Secretary since 2020) and Scott Moore (PHCA President since 2022) are stepping down this year. PHCA is looking for community leaders!

We have our annual meeting on Tues, May 12. The President and Secretary board positions are up for re-election for a two-year term. Kimberly Schrimsher (PHCA Secretary since 2020) and Scott Moore (PHCA President since 2022) are stepping down this year.

The main obligation of the PHCA Board is to run at least five community meetings each year. Our bylaws are available on our website at https://pimmithills.org

PHCA also puts on the Pimmit Hills Day festival in the fall, with the help of an event coordinator that we hire.
