Hello everyone! I’d like to take a moment to officially introduce myself Lana Chenoweth as the Recreation Supervisor for the Churchill County Parks and Recreation team.

My journey with Churchill County began in May 2019 in the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office, where I spent two years learning the importance of public service and community connection. I then transitioned into the Administrative Assistant position within Parks and Recreation, where I served until November 2025. During that time, I immersed myself in every aspect of recreation programming — learning our scheduling and programming software, supporting events, and building relationships with participants and community members.

One of my favorite parts of this career has always been connecting with people. I enjoy creating positive experiences and helping participants feel welcomed and excited about the events and programs we offer.

As Recreation Supervisor, I look forward to continuing the success of our current programs while also bringing fresh ideas and new opportunities to the community. Some recent additions include the Bubble Run benefiting the Churchill County High School Swim Team and Plant Bingo in partnership with the Churchill County High School Plant Systems Class.

I’m excited for what’s ahead and grateful for the opportunity to continue serving this amazing community. I look forward to meeting more of you at future events and programs! Photo credit:

What a fun night!

Our very first Plant Bingo was a hit, and we want to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and participated. We had a great turnout, lots of laughs, and plenty of plant excitement! 🪴💚

I’ll admit… there was definitely a learning curve on my end 😅, and I truly appreciate the participants who jumped in to help guide me through running bingo. Your patience and support made the night even better!

Lessons were learned, notes were taken, and we already have ideas to make the next Plant Bingo Night even more amazing. Thank you for helping us grow this new community event — we can’t wait to do it again!
