Reaching the Hungry

Reaching the Hungry Next, we'll identify their needs and determine how we can meet them together. If you do not have a trip leader, we will provide one.

Mobilizing churches to put their faith into action by providing opportunities to serve alongside missionaries reaching the physically and spiritual hungry throughout the world. How Serving in Word & Deed Works ~
We will work with your church to identify a people group to serve, or you may choose to serve one of your current missionaries. We encourage you to select a team to visit your missionary o

r people group on the front lines. The team will deliver Bibles and/or the serving option that your church has chosen. This breathes new life into the missionary's work as well as bringing global perspective and excitement into the life of your congregation. We will provide fresh opportunities to foster longterm relationships with those on the field.

Carolee came to Malawi with uncertainty. She had been sick for weeks, wasn’t sure what to expect, and wondered if she would even be able to make the trip.

But she answered God’s call to go.

What she discovered was that she was more blessed than she was a blessing to others.

Her experience in Malawi reminded her of three things: to love, to be available, and to live with generosity.

Sometimes, saying yes to the call can change more than we expect.

That is not just our tagline. It is where Reaching The Hungry began—long before it had a name.

Years ago, Pastor Carlos traveled to Africa and noticed something: many organizations were handing out aid without building relationships or creating lasting follow-through. That stayed with him long after he returned home.

So he and his wife, Lisa, began serving in the villages of Malawi. They started by teaching Farming God’s Way, helping families grow food and care for the land. From there, they began Talking Bible Listening Groups, creating space for people to hear and discuss God’s Word in their own villages and language.

That led to showing the Jesus Film in Chichewa, followed by the formation of Life Group Bible studies. Physical needs were being met, relationships were growing, and communities were discovering the hope of the gospel.

That is how Reaching The Hungry began—not with a five-year plan drawn up in an office, but with a response to the needs right in front of us.

We still build everything the same way today: meet the physical need first, and let it open the door for the gospel.

In word and deed, together, every time.

🌍 Update from Joshua, our RtH‑Malawi Team Leader

The month of August was filled with blessings as the RtH‑Malawi team visited the Mkhalapadzuwa community in T/A Kabudura, Lilongwe. Our purpose was to encourage and strengthen the RtH Life Groups in the area.

During our visit, we were grateful for the opportunity to repair a non-functioning water well, restoring the community’s access to clean water. It brought us great joy to see the people once again benefiting from this vital resource. We also held joyful ministry outreaches for children and women throughout the day, sharing God’s love with the community.

That evening, we hosted a “Jesus Film” outreach at the community grounds. Many people heard the Gospel clearly presented, and we rejoiced as individuals responded by committing their lives to Christ as their Lord and Savior.

The following day, more than 20 Life Group leaders and their apprentices gathered for a productive Shepherd leadership training. They were equipped and encouraged to lead new Life Groups and disciple others effectively.

We are deeply grateful for your continued prayers and steadfast support. May the Lord richly bless you for your commitment to His work in Malawi. Shalom!

Watch the joy on their faces!

One pump. One village. Clean water flowing where families need it most.

In villages like this one, women and children walk miles to collect water, and unsafe water puts their families at risk every day.

A well changes that.

But clean water is only the beginning. Every well we install opens a door. A door to sit with a village and share a meal.

Every single one started with a moment like this.

You can be the reason the next village celebrates like this.

📣 Wonderful Updates from Joshua, our RtH‑Malawi Team Leader 🌍

The month of June has been exceptionally blessed as the RtH Malawi team had the privilege of visiting two Bible Study Groups—one in Mtafune Village and the other in Mtsatsu Village.

Our purpose was to encourage and strengthen these believers in their faith. During our visit, we provided each group with 'Talking Bibles' as well as printed copies of the Scriptures. We also conducted a children's ministry outreach, sharing God's love and truth with many young hearts.

In partnership with Mr. Verious and members of the local community, we were able to repair a non-functioning water well, restoring access to clean water for the village. That evening, we hosted a 'Jesus Film' outreach where many people heard the Gospel, and we rejoiced as numerous individuals made decisions to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior.

The following day, we conducted a successful 'Discipleship Journeys with Jesus' (DJJ) training session attended by more than 35 leaders representing various Bible Study Groups. It was an encouraging time of equipping and strengthening leaders for effective ministry in their communities.

We are deeply grateful for your prayers, partnership, and continued support of the ministry in Malawi. Together, we are seeing lives transformed and communities impacted for the glory of God.

Only 3 more trips to Mexico are left this year! These one-day & multi-day mission trips are perfect for those with busy calendars and first-time travelers. On the orphanage trips, we serve the children & staff at Colina de Luz Orphanage, and on our medical trips, we provide medical care to the children and members of the local community. There's a trip next week on June 18-20. If you can't make that one, we have two more trips later this year: Aug 22-23 and Nov 28.
