We are proud to celebrate two honors recognizing the dedication and impact of the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River Team and Board of Directors received during the NE Regional Conference.

A huge congratulations to Monica Tavares, recipient of the Goodwins, Hammersley & Bushnell Award honoring the four trailblazing women who founded the Boys & Girls Club movement in 1860 and recognizing Club professionals whose leadership makes a meaningful difference for youth.

The Club also received the 100% Operations Impact Award, honoring Clubs that meet all regional goals for expanding reach and quality across core priorities. This achievement reflects our team and board’s commitment to meaningful outcomes for young people and a stronger community. A special shout out to Board Member, Rebecca Collins for all her efforts throughout this process.

We were honored to attend the Leduc Center for Civic Engagement’s awards ceremony last night and celebrate the power of community partnerships. UMass Dartmouth is a valued partner of the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River, and Guadalupe Garcia Carrillo’s community-focused project brought two of our collaborations together. Drawing on her firsthand experience working with Club Kids through America Reads/America Counts, Guadalupe created a thoughtful graphic design project in Professor Ziddi Msangi’s Community Engagement Design class. Her work beautifully incorporates our Kids’ voices and artistic expression into something the Club now uses to connect with donors and supporters. Congratulations, Guadalupe, on this well-deserved recognition!

From all 1,613 of Fall River's Club Kids - thank you to everyone who supported the Borden Light Marina Charity Poker Run and made it such a huge success! The event raised $116,000 for local children, including $58,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River. Michael, Nicole, and Cindy - thank you for making this happen for Fall River's Club Kids and Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island!

Thank you to everyone who came out and volunteered for the event including the United Way of Greater Fall River, Inc. staff, and some amazing Club Alumni! A special shout out to this four-year old kid who dunked our Executive Director Bill Kiley on his first shot!

Fall River's Club Kids celebrate International Day of Peace with the creation of a peace chain and drawings of how they can make Fall River more peaceful, inspiring positive conversations and memories of what others showed them kindness.
Messages of peace include:

"I hope everyone is successful."
"Don't judge people's disabilities."
"Kindness. My friend helped me up when I fell down and brought me to the nurse."

Stop by to take a tour, meet our staff, register for a Club membership, explore fall programs, and complete orientation. Membership is just $25 a year and includes swimming lessons, recreational sports, homework help, arts, STEM, music, and dinner every night.
