A 501c3 Nonprofit Surf School and Sensory Surf Shop where our mission is to create a culture shift toward inclusion, acceptance, diversity and equality for all kids of all abilities. We aim to teach kids how to embrace themselves and nature, promote positivity and wellness, create the feelings of self esteem, happiness, and accomplishment. Through surfing we model characteristics of persistence, p

ractice overcoming everyday obstacles, and learn how to work through fears and challenges. We specialize in teaching kids the positive healing power of surfing as a tool for everyday life. Experienced and skilled in working with children on the Autism Spectrum, Down syndrome, ADHD, Depression, and Anxiety with magical outcomes. We offer scholarships to our academy for all low income families. No child will be left behind due to their socio-economic status!

Wondering what our 3-Day Camps look like? 🎨🎵🌊 Here's a peek at The SET: Music, Art, and Surf Camp from last summer — drum and music circles, expressive art through our 'Draw Your Stoke' activity, and creativity on the waves. This is more than surfing. It's community building, goal setting (and smashing), and social-emotional learning all wrapped into three incredible days. Big news from the waves of Nosara! 🌊✨

What started as a passion project to bring surf therapy to neurodivergent children in Costa Rica has officially reached a new milestone. We are so proud to announce that Gnome Surf is now providing the stoke year-round with our volunteers in Costa Rica.🏄‍♂️💙

Where traditional therapy services are limited, we’ve made it our mission to turn the waves into a pillar of inclusion, social-emotional growth, and well-being. This wouldn't be possible without our incredible partners at and . Thank you for helping us keep the magic alive!

The Sean Reardon Memorial "Be Radical" Camp is one of the most special days of our season. Each year, Sean's classmates and other students from the Wolfe School come together to celebrate his memory the best way we know how — on the waves. 🤙

Sean's memory and vibe have long been a part of our culture at Gnome, there is a connection that often occurs between our founder, when a reminder needs to be felt. It is with great honor and gratitude that we carry on Sean's Be Radical legacy.

The ocean is a beautiful healer but it is a force that must be understood and respected. As the founder of Gnome Surf, I feel a deep responsibility to be a steward of that knowledge, especially for our youth.

This year, this message hits closer to home than ever before. Recently, I lost a college teammate. He gave his life to save his children who were caught in a rip current. He succeeded in giving them life, but tragically succumbed to his own.

This is why we share this message every year. Please, educate your children. Understand the dangers that exist beneath the surface. If you are going to push the ocean’s limits, please come out and learn to navigate it alongside us.

The ocean is a powerful ally for mental health and wellness, and that is a mission we are committed to sharing with you all. But to enjoy that beauty, you must respect it and know what it is doing.

Please, keep it safe out there. We love you all.
