Our public K–12 schools and colleges are at a critical crossroads. Across Massachusetts, educators, students, and families are feeling the impact of underfunding, with larger class sizes, staff cuts, and fewer resources for the students who need them most.

The FY2027 Senate budget takes important steps forward, but we must keep pushing for the full investment our schools and communities deserve. That’s why we’re asking educators, parents, students, and allies to take 2 minutes to sign this letter campaign and urge lawmakers to strengthen public education funding now.

Today, we recognize May Day, a day rooted in the fight for workers’ rights, dignity, and justice, and a time to honor the strength, resilience, and contributions of workers everywhere.

As educators, our work goes beyond the classroom. We advocate, uplift, and stand in solidarity with all workers, past and present, who have organized for fair wages, safe workplaces, and equitable opportunities for all.

Our classrooms, our communities, and our union are stronger because of this legacy.

May Day reminds us of the power of solidarity and the importance of continuing the fight for the respect, resources, and conditions our schools deserve.

Let’s keep building a future where every worker, every educator, and every student can thrive.
